Raja Liquors got the BeerFly ball rolling on a recent trip to the Bay Area. It's a somewhat largish establisment, tucked away from the street behind a Round Table Pizza. From the enterance, just head straight to locate the beer.
Some of the beers are refrigerated, and some aren't. I didn't see any dusty bottles, but seeing a collection of Sculpin bottles with the old label makes me second guess the condition/freshness of the beers. I found beers from Unibroue, St. Peter's, Speakeasy, Russian River (including several from the -tion series), Lagunitas, Ballast Point. I picked up a bottle of Ovila for $9.99, one of the less expensive prices I saw for that beer. In general, I would the say the prices were reasonable.
As I purchased my bottle, the checker commented that the Ovila was a good choice. "A Belgian style from Sierra Nevada", he commented. By the sound of that, it sounds like these guy may know a thing or two about beer. It's no Perry's in terms of selection, but at least it's less expensive.
