Midtown, "The Mecca," is by far my favorite place to shop hands down in the Tulsa area. Selection is outstanding and knowledge of products are equally great. Nice friendly service that I don't get from a lot of other stores. Most the time I don't even get eye contact when I enter a bottle shop. The staff is always eager to help with a decision or pricing.

One thing that I truly love is the price sheets around the store. This makes for easy choosing for those who hate to ask questions while shopping.

The mix a six selection is the best I have seen and a steal as far as pricing. I enjoy it when I enter a store with more beer than liquor or wine. Although, they do have a great selection of vino as well.

The place I frequent the most and not because its the best location for me.

I do not live in Tulsa but stop here everytime I am in town. Amazing selection. I always plan to keep myself in control but always buy more than I need. There is too much temptation! The staff is always friendly and Carter is great to speak with about any of the beer selections.

As everyone else has stated, the selection is the best I have found in Tulsa and I think I have seen all of beer stores... This isn't a wine store with beer on the side. Beer is the focus and I couldn't be more pleased.

Thanks Carter!

Midtown Liquor is the best beer spot in Tulsa, period. The store has Oklahoma's best selection, the best service, and they take the best care of their product.
I have found that they consistently have items on the shelf that you can't get at any other store in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. I appreciate that Carter always knows what beers are coming our way and he seems to keep our distributors interested in getting new product to Oklahoma.
With very reasonable prices, extensive inventory, great service, and the convenience of the store next door (for kegs, ice, cold 3.2, etc), Midtown Liquor is the beer hub of Tulsa.

For Oklahoma, the selection is as good as it gets. The "What's New/What's Coming" board was a great feature of this store. The staff are professional and knowledgeable. The store was busier than I expected during my 10:00 am in the morning (Sat.) visit. From that, I'd expect a pretty high turnover (freshness - if I want an aged beer, I'll do it myself). Many of the other visitors seemed to be perusing the beer selections. That further affirmed this suspicion. Its location is good for me and probably many other visitors to Tulsa (close to the ballpark and racetrack). Kind of unsuspecting in that it is in a strip mall. Worth seeking out.

The "go to place" to buy beer in Tulsa. This is one of those places that you can spend 45 minutes picking out your selection.
Carter is the owner and he has a whiteboard telling you what's new and what's coming. This is a beer advocates store. They have basically anything and everything that is available in the area and Carter is always fighting for new beers. He has a one of the best selections on his pick a six and his prices rival anyone in Tulsa.

He has a great Belgium selection as well as seasonals.
This guy cares about beer and cares about your selection.

This is a place that you can talk about beer in the beer store.
He also has a tastings at his store.

Best beer store in Tulsa.

Long Live Carter!!!

This is my go to liquor store. I discovered it since I moved close by it. I love the pick six beer selection. They have more local beers than any others. I'm happy to call this my neighborhood store! The staff are very friendly and helpful also. I only wish we could get cold beer!

Thank goodness I ignored the very few negative reviews. If you have a problem with this place, please show me your idea of a good store (in Oklahoma) and I'll make a special trip to see it.

Having lived in Belgium for two years, this store somewhat reminded me of the rural Belgian beer stores: Pallets of beer to buy in bulk on the floors, as well as shelves with singles and 4- and 6-packs.

The smaller shelf has the make-your-own 6-packs with some decent options, but I did most of my buying from the other shelf that breaks down the beer by region. Very good selection of Belgians — came home with a few different offerings from Dupont, a couple Flemish Reds (Strubbe's and Duchesse), plus two cases of Leffe for a friend who drinks the sh!t out of that stuff. Also bought some bottles from Boulevard, Great Divide, Mikkeller, plus some stuff from a couple of OK breweries I've wanted to try (Choc and Coop).

The staff was friendly while I shopped. At checkout they boxed up everything and loaded up my car for me. Since I spent nearly $400, that was a lot of loading.

*Now, for the customer service story: I dropped by this store on my way home to Memphis, TN after visiting a friend near Tulsa. When I got home (7 hours later), I realized that somehow I didn't make it home with a 4-pack of Kwak. I called the store, and the guy who answered it was the guy who loaded up my car. Told him about the missing beers, and the guy didn't question me or anything. He apologized, and since I live so far away and it will be a long time before I'm back, he promised to ship me that 4-pack and pay for the shipping out of his own pocket.

It's one thing to have good selection; it's quite another to have staff that understands the value of a customer and making sure they're satisfied. I just wish Memphis was a lot closer to this store; I'd be a regular for sure.

Outside of Macadoodles in Missouri this place has the best selection by far in the area. Unfortunately with Oklahoma beer laws they can't keep the beer cold, but when I go to TX or MO they have their best selection out of the coolers anyway. So I can't lower the beer quality for silly laws :). Jacob (the hairy one) has always been very helpful and gives me tips on when the freshest beer come in the store. For example Coop F-5 came in yesterday!!!! Oh this store helps make me a hoppy girl :)

Midtown Liquor is IMO the best place in Tulsa to find beer. When you first go in the door is the large selection. They have the beers arranged by country of origin, which is quite helpful. Their selection is great, they even had the Rochefort ales, which I have not seen anywhere else in Tulsa. As far as I could tell, they had just about every beer you could get in the state of Oklahoma. Carter the beer manager is super helpful and always posting updates on BA to let everyone know what beers are new to the state. Opposite to the main store, they also have a refrigerated section for 3.2 ABW beer and kegs. Overall, I give this store a thumbs up.

Stopped by right at opening time (10am by Oklahoma law).

If you are passing through Oklahoma, this is a must-make stop. Did a random sampling of places in Oklahoma and selected Midtown by serendipity, BA review rating, and proximity to the highway. Thank you BA reviewers!

Grey steel shelves lined row after row of really fresh and highly desired brands and styles. Highlights include:

** Great local beer selection. What I remember from Oklahoma: Battered Boar, Coop Ale Works, Huebert, Krebs/Choc, Marshall, Redbud

** Great regional beer selection -- TallGrass from Kansas was the real exciting find for me. Freestate as well. Texas and Missouri beers, Colorado, and Arkansas.

** Oregon and California beers not available in Texas or Missouri (the two adjoining states where my travels were taking me), or home in Indiana

** Numerous rare and new (to me) Belgian beers

** An entire shelf of rice beer, one of gluten-free beer, and large selection of organic beers for those interested.

** Fair pricing

More details:
- Arranged by region/country of origin, then by style, so it may take a moment to get used to the fact that all the AIPAs are together, all the IIPAs, pale ales, and the lagers, etc.

- Helpful shelf tags have hop/bitterness range and dark/light to make sure your new brew is at least something like what you were expecting.

- Great make-a-six selection: numerous beers I have been curious about and able to try with minimal risk (6 for ~$8.50).

- Prices are posted on blue printouts attached to each shelf unit. My guess is the stock moves too fast to price each sixer.

- Helpful board with recent and upcoming arrivals. All excellent and interesting!

I've been to Midtown many times over a period of several years. I returned yesterday for the first time in almost 2 years after reading some great recent reviews and I was in the neighborhood anyway. It was pretty good before, but I can say that this store has seriously stepped up it's beer game since I was there last. At least half the store is dedicated to beer now. I found things there that I've seen no where else in Oklahoma. Tons of Oklahoma brews - Prairie, Marshall, Coop, Choc, Black Mesa, Rough Tail, Anthem, and Mustang. I was shocked by the piles of Prairie. Nice selections of Founders, Goose Island, Great Divide, Rogue, Avery, and countless others. Nice Belgian section. They had all the German Oktoberfests I was hunting for - Ayinger, Hacker-Pschorr, and Paulander. Both guys working were very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Prices are as good as it gets around Tulsa. Store was very clean and I really didn't see any dusty bottles. The pick 6 shelves didn't have anything I was interested in although the selection is pretty large. I think it's organized as well as it can be given the space. They're maxed out so it's a bit tough to maneuver a shopping cart with all the stacks of beer on the floor and narrow aisles. From now on, this is my go-to store in Tulsa even if it's out of my way and even though I hate the streets in that part of town. Go there, be happy.

This liquor store has the best beer selection in Tulsa and always receives all the newest brews in a very timely fashion... And they normally get lots of it. Probably the best thing about this store is you can call them at 10 AM and tell them to hold a case of the new BOMB! they just got in and they'll do it for you. Places around here just don't do that. They also always have great bottle limits on limited stuff. great selection, great price.

Collins Midtown Liquors is conveniently located across from the Fair Meadows Race Track (Tulsa State Fairgrounds) in the 21st & Yale shopping center that includes Reasor's & Target. Midtown Liquors has been around for a long time serving the local community, but only recently started catering to beer aficionados. The old store recently got a bit of a makeover with new signs, shelving, and more importantly a much needed re-organization that avoids the beer sitting directly in the sun's harmful rays. All of this is due to the ongoing efforts of Manager, Carter Perez (a.k.a. lovething) who's a recent convert and monastic beer worshipper. He also knows wine and is a USSA certified wine sommelier.

Collins Midtown boasts the largest selection of beer in Oklahoma with over 600+ different beers (alcopops, craft, domestic, imported) in stock! Collins was also voted to the 2008 Absolute Best of Tulsa by the Urban Tulsa Weekly. They have a large selection of singles that are sold by the bottle or sixer. If you don't see it, then it's either out-of-stock, out-of-season, or it's simply not available in Oklahoma. Carter does a wonderful job of stock rotation to ensure the beer off the store's shelf is the freshest available. If you're visiting, then this is a definite good beer stop. If you're local, then why the hell aren't you already shopping here? Be certain to check out the coming soon & new arrival board. Don't forget that Collins Brothers One Stop is still next door!

In town for the NCAA BBall tourney I swung by Midtown to check their local beer selection. Wow, great selection of not only local beers but several national brands we can't seem to get in Texas (Caldera, Southampton, Lost Coast, Mad River, etc). I happily loaded up a shopping cart with about 50 singles and bombers as well as a couple sixers. Clerk was very friendly and knowledgable and even gave me a Boulevard bar towel. They have to comply with Oklahoma's archaic refrigeration laws, but Midtown can't be blamed for that. Prices reasonable. Great place to buy beer!

Midtown Liquor is the place go to in Tulsa. It's not a huge store by any means, but with Carter (BA lovething) running the beer department you're assured that if it's available in Oklahoma, then they've got it. Plenty of American craft breweries along with a good selection of Belgian, German, and U.K. breweries to choose from. Beer Mail lovething if you have any questions about what's available or on the way; he'll help you out. It's also nice to see a white board as soon as you walk in listing all the new offerings. High quality...stock is rotated appropriately. Can't beat the place.

Hands down the best selection of beer in the Tulsa area. I stop in at least a couple times a month to what new beers are in. If it's available in Oklahoma it's here. Midtown also has the largest "pick six" section in Tulsa and it is always updated with new beers. My only ding is that I have ran into a couple stale beers lately but its a small price to pay for the large number of selections available. The staff is always helpful and available to answer any questions. If you are a beer lover in Oklahoma you must try shopping here.

I have been by this place a couple of times while passing through Tulsa. My lastest experience just a couple of minutes after a car ran through the window and landed on top of the beer section. Good thing I didn't get there 10 minutes earlier or I would have been under the car! Sad thing was all the beer that was running out into the parking lot.

Quality and selection of the beer selection is, as far as I can tell, the best for Oklahoma. Comparing to liquor stores I have been to in OK, this is far above the rest. Most stores in Oklahoma have a couple of Sam Adams, and some Blvd. and that's about it.

Service is outstanding! Before I even visited the store Carter (BA name: lovething) sent me a beer mail after I had posted that I was going to be passing through Tulsa. He let me know he was the manager and let me know about some of the beers he was going to be recieving that week. The instore was also great.

Price seems to be solid. I am comparing to a store in OKC which has a similar selection, but prices are considerably more.

A great place to find some beers in Tulsa. Carter (BA lovething), was a great help. I beer mailed him about my wants as I am visiting Tulsa for work. He sent me a prompted and helpful response. I happened to visit the store when he was not working, but the person that was there was a great help. He pointed me to Saison-Brett, and the Rochefort beers I was looking for. I also picked up some Fuller's Vintage Ale and a couple of Big Sky beers among some other goodies. The prices seemed reasonable. I did notice a lot of dust on some of the singles and six packs (the only thing I could critic). Overall, highly recommend, and a great find for someone out of town.

PS: Carter and I conversed a couple more times, and he got me some Boulevard BBQ that he had sitting at his house. A great guy and place. This place is a must.
