5 oz taster

a – clove and spice. malt sweetness with dark fruit. getting bubblegum as it warms.

a – thin off-white head lingers around edge. mahogany with burnt orange around edge when held to light.

f – clove and dark fruit. sweet malt but not cloying. balanced by bittering hops. no hop flavor.

m – low-med carbonation. low-medium body. seems a bit thin. no astringency.

o – nice beer but would like a bit more spice in flavor. needs a bit more body.

Drank a half litre at the brewery tap and restaurant in Wurzburg. Served in a tall handled mug with a wide mouth. Great Keiler logo with the smiling toothy boar hoisting a glass.

Slightly cloudy and mahogany in color. Nice roasted flavors that include some cereal and grainy notes. Hops are not strong in the flavor profile-- it's more of a warm broth of a wheat beer. Some clove stands out among the esters, which are not as strong as in typical hefeweiezens. Apple flavors contribute to the fruitiness. A decent and very drinkable beer with food, but not a standout.
