Poured from a brown 500 ml bottle with best before date printed on front.
Appearance: Hazy golden orange. Effervescent body with a thick pillowy, white head that just won't quite.
Smell: Fruity. Peach and banana with maybe a bit of citrus. Wheat spice is also present.
Taste: Sweet fruit upfront, but quickly followed and indeed overpowered by spiciness and a kind of dull bread and yeasty flavor. No hoppiness that I can taste. Pale malt towards the very end. Savory yeast lingers on the tongue along with some mild citrusy qualities.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and rich with a prickly mouthfeel. Both from high carbonation and strong flavors.
Impressions: Pretty good. This hefeweizen has really strong wheat spice characteristics. (If you've drank hefeweizens before you'll know what I'm talking about.) Uses wheat spice and interesting yeast flavors instead of hops to balance the sweet fruit and malt flavors. This might not be my absolute favorite hefeweizen, but it's a unique one that I would definitely try again.

I had this beer once in a four pack that a friend bought for me and was very impressed
Normally, I am not impressed with hefes in bottles, but this was an exception
Poured a nice three finger German head into a wheat beer german glass. Head was impressive, lasted and very distinctive German weissbier mushroom top bloom. beautiful hazy yellow.
Aromas of cloves, bananas and just a faint third spice (grains of paradise?)
Taste follows the nose, with just a hint more citrus
Mouthfeel is full but crisp and refreshing
Overall, I think this is my favorite Hefe-weissen in a bottle. My only regret is that I look for it all the time, and it is hit or miss, the Dunkle is usually whats in stock at least in Atlanta….It left a good impression, because I look for it all the time
