Poured from 500mL bottle into a weizen glass.
Appearance: nutty brown hue with a moderate haze and a very strong effervescence. Head is four fingers of creamy tan foam with good retention. Attractive.
Smell: sweet, wheaty malt with a balanced banana and clove aroma. I just had the Julius Echter hefeweizen, and this dunkelweizen has a lot more banana character than the regular hefe. I quite like it.
Taste: sweet malt right up front with a mild caramel character. A nice wheatiness follows which brings with it the banana character from the yeast. Balanced and tasty.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a strong carbonation and a good, creamy texture. I like it.
Overall: a good dunkelweizen. I've had a lot of dunkels that are overdone, with too-high alcohol and too much phenolic messiness; in contrast, this is a clean, quaffable brew. I'd definitely have this again.

L: rich dark brown, with lighter edges near the side of the glass, and darker in the center. Darker khaki head that has decent retention.
S: rich dark red fruit, malt, and Worcestershire sauce.
T: molasses, cherries, creamy, and a hint of spice.
F: very fine bubbles, a little too much carbonation.
Rich, pleasant, and goes well with spicy food. I'm curious how this would be in a stew stock, such as in a beef or venison stew. Probably would go well with roast meat.

Appearance:
Pours a humble, chestnut brown and billows up a voluminous beige head that gradually settles into a placid halo. Laces in a classy, unbroken curtain all the way to the last drop.
Bouquet:
A big bushel of hard red winter wheat, roasted barley, malted wheat, spiced bread, and a hint of fresh sliced banana in the aftermath.
Feel:
A hearty, medium body worthy of the winter season, yet it washes down like a lighter ale with limited linger. A moderate bustle of bubbles keeps it feeling lively. Simultaneously robust and refreshing, which is quite unique.
Taste:
A wheat-heavy, grain-laden, banana bread with a pixie dusting of cloves baked in.
Overall:
The banana aspect is easy to miss but becomes simpler to distinguish when the beer gets to around 55 degrees Fahrenheit. A nice dunkelweizen.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy brown color with a large tan head that slowly dissipates. In the nose, bread and bananas. In the mouth, a silky smooth caramel and bread taste with some banana backing. Nice!

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Beautiful head and lacing, deep brown color. Fruity smell. Banana and clove taste with a bit of smokiness. Rich feel. Overall, pretty good.
