A: pours a light copper with a decent white head that fades fairly quickly. good lacing

S: Not much aroma, some caramel. A bit of bread crust. Some woody hops.

T: A bit of weak caramel, nothing strong. Graham cracker and orange peel. Low bitterness and faint woody hop flavor. Starts a little sweet but finishes dry with a tiny bit of bread crust. Nutty flavor shows up after it warms a bit. Has a flavor of chewing on fresh English malt kernels.

M: Low carbonation, a fair amount of astringency. A bit puckering and thin bodied.

O: Not my favorite example of an English brown. A little too thin, more like an American amber without the hops. In fact if you dry hopped some cascade, this might make a decent amber. Needs a bit more malt flavor, more caramel and a bit more body would make this beer better. Otherwise it's solid, just not a standout for me.

Been wanting to try this ever since I caught a smell of a remaining drop in a family growler.

A - Very interesting, pours to a dark golden color, not the brown I was suspecting. Barely any head, just a faint white ring

S - Hard to place, lots of nuts and caramel, but also faint fruits

T - Even more interesting, the nuts and slight caramel are there, hops are oddly in the front and very faint, has that roasted malt to it but also more of an IPA style as a whole.

M - Fairly syrupy, a little carbonation but not a whole lot

O - Overall its a fairly complex beer, not quite what I was expecting from a brown ale. It's also pretty light. Nothing too crazy but something I would definitely have again.
