A: pours a nice golden with a thin prolonged white head. moderate lacing
S: Not much aroma. Somewhat earthy hop aroma albeit subdued. Some light caramel comes through but its not complex.
T: Little earthy hop flavor. Some slightly wheaty and nutty flavor up front. Moderate bitterness, a bit of a metallic flavor and a bit of over ripe apricot. Some mild English malt and a bit of citrus. Clean with a little bready tone in the dry finish.
M: light bodied, a bit thin with some light astringency. Moderate carbonation.
O: Not a terribly exciting beer but an easy drinking beer. It lacks a bit of the typical pilsner flavor I expect, leaning a bit more to an english malt character.

12 ounce bottle poured into a Pilsner glass.
The head looks nice and is persistent. The orange-gold body is slightly hazy. Aroma is spicy and floral with a bit of biscuit.
Fairly clean and dry it tastes in line with the nose, feel is crisp and light.
Not bad.

On tap at Station 2 in Richmond.
Pours a clear light orange with thick, fluffy head.
Smell is clean and biscuty with some floral notes to it.
Taste is clean and bready, nice malt base holding up a moderate bitterness and floral hop notes.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a very good pilsner, nice and crisp, slighty more bitter than its European counterparts.

I don't know what I'm getting from this that others are not, but did not enjoy this one. Not great, not terrible, but definitely the last time I will be having this one

Cloudy and golden orange in color with a nearly 2 finger white head that leaves moderate lacing as it recedes. Second pour gave a 5 finger head, chunky and longer lasting, with more lacing.
Sweet malt with light milky caramel. Lemony grassy hops.
Medium sweet at first but tempers a bit as you go. Light caramel and lemon again, with steady hop bitterness. Cloves show up with the taller head. Odd for a pilsner, but nice.
Nice and crisp. Medium bodied but pillowy with light syrup. Dry and a bit sticky in the end.
I really like Pilsner Urquell, but I like this better. It pushes the envelope. It kicks it up a notch or two.
It grew on me. Full flavored and aromatic with a great body and appearance.

12 oz bottle into a teku.
Appearance: Pours a murky amber color. Now this is nothing like any pilsner I've ever encountered - it's far closer to a kellerbier in appearance. The head is a finger high and white in shade. It has an unusually creamy texture for the style, while retention is only good by aforementioned style standards. A thin but consistent ring of lacing clings to the glass. (2.5)
Smell: There's an unusual amount of caramel here for a pils. I pick up lots of bread and caramel (like I said), with only a touch of hopping providing some lemon, grass, and earth. Yeastiness appears as a faint fruity hint. Going by the nose, it definitely doesn't smell like it will have the crisp snap of a pils. (3)
Taste: It starts off with some lemon, along with twinges of fruit esters. Lemon lasts long into the finish and aftertaste, with some bread, earth, and caramel interjecting itself right before the swallow. This is quite complex, though the general amount of 'pop' is low. (3.25)
Mouthfeel: While it's respectably dry, it doesn't have the crisp finishing snap of a pilsner. Generally, the feel is somewhat hefty and unclean. Completely and totally wrong for a pilsner...but not for a kellerbier. Carbonation is high, at least. (2.75)
Overall: People expecting a regular pilsner are going to be in for a world of shock. People expecting a freaky-deeky keller pils will be a bit more understanding about this one. Seriously, how do I rate this? Even though it works far better as a kellerbier, I'm not finding it THAT enjoyable. I say it's worth trying a single bottle, but be warned: this is NOT anything like Urquell. (2.75)
3/5: Weirdest. Pils. Ever.

On draft at Whole Foods in Alexandria, VA.
The beer is transparent and bright golden with a half inch of pure white head. Aromas of grain, earthy hops, malt. Pale malts and grain. Decent flavor, but could be cleaner tasting / feeling. Some nice aromas and tastes, but basically, a middle of the road pilsner. This was ok.
