This was obviously interesting, and also fun to try. This unfiltered beer was the color of yam skins. Aroma was generally malty with a touch of sweetness. Medium mouthfeel, tiny tingly carbonation. Over-all tastewise, malt predominates, although there are some nice grassy hops in there too.

I've had this on-tap at the Lakes Brew Fest for the past two years and it's been one of my faves ever since, and I'll always make sure to get a sample of it every year.

The name sure is catchy as it's a beer made from the mash of sweet potatoes aka yams. This makes for a dark and cloudy beer (unfiltered) with a fairly sweet taste. It is mostly dominated by the malt though with hints of spice.

Not a typical beer but a worthy one to try.

Just the name alone made me want to try it. It was a cloudy brown, with a medium head and some lacing. It had a predominately malty aroma, with a little sweetness, maybe caramel. Malt taste also predominated, some sweetness/spice. Hops late. Fairly robust, a nice beer to drink.
