I'd have to agree with BEERchitect that the smoke inside 3 Crows is not as bad as other places, but I still found it almost impossible - no, scratch that, it was actually totally impossible to properly enjoy my beer. That for me kills a place, and to be honest it wasn't really even that smoky (not like the cloud that was hanging just above head level in the Beer Sellar). So, points lost on quality.

As for the vibe, I thought it was pretty cool. Very laid back and kind of grungy in a way.

Service was OK, but shouldn't service in any bar be at the very least OK?

I didn't try an food, and in all honesty I didn't even see any come out of the kitchen as it was a slow Tuesday night (probably too early). I like the fact that they try to incorporate beer but I'm not sure how much difference it would make. Still, the Bleu Gouda Stout Burger and Beer Cheese Nachos caught my eye.

Decent beer list, but in all honesty it wasn't that much better than a lot of places, and actually more limited than many.

Would I go back? ...perhaps just to hang with friends and have a few beers that I've already had before? Nope, still too smoky, but if you don't mind that I'd recommend it over "Beyond The Edge" which is just up the hill but lacks charm and decor in comparison. (1,271 characters)

After visiting a nearby beer bar and having a slightly less than stellar experience, we decided to make the hop, skip, and jump over to 3 Crow Bar. Glad we did; we had a fantastic time. Located just off a popular corner in the Five Points neighborhood, the bar fronts a sidewalk for a very urban and artsy attitude.

Walking into the older and established building, we are met by the bar off slightly to the right. We bellied up to the stools to the far right which butts up to the window- great for people watching. The bar has a saloon-type feel with weathered woods, brewery artifacts, and an overall don't-give-a-shit kinda look (it could use some sprucing up).

But the beers make the place shine. The emphasis is on local crafts with some regionals mixed in. We had a Terrapin Hopsecutioner and Rye Squared, and a Yazoo Hop Project #30. They had several more special offerings from Sweetwater, Lazy Magnolia, and Atlanta Brewing. Throw in a New Belgium beer or two and that makes for an easy drinking evening.

The bartender was your average guy. He knew his beers but was slight on conversation. Though things were a bit slow on this early Thursday evening, the bar had a laid back and cozy atmosphere and just enough patronage to liven things up.

Not too sure about the food, I'm not sure if the bar even offers any.

I'm guessing the bar seats about 25 and the many tables and chairs in the expanded main room may accomodate another 75 or so. Although the place allows smoking, it didn't seem to bother me as much as other Nashville bars have, perhaps because of the large and open areas that moved air better.

I'd definately recommend visiting this bar, especially if you are on the East side of Nashville. (1,718 characters)

Dropped in after work on a Wed. Supposedly have happy hour from 3-7 but I could never figure out what the special was. 25+ beers on tap including SN Celebration, Bluegrass Jeffersons Reserve, the three standard Yazoo's and the Nitro Stout, and many more. Even bigger bottle selection, but a shit-ton of macros. Also had a short list of high ABV beers with somewhat reasonable prices. A few big TV's with sports on as well as foosball and darts. Really smokey place. Had a meatball sub which was good, not great. Others in the group enjoyed their food as well. Primarily pizzas and subs.

A cool place to drop in if you are in East Nashville. Easily one of the best 2 or 3 beers bars in town, but remember, this is Nashville. (724 characters)

Stopped in here for lunch to check the place out.

Parking is sort of limited here but this is probably a jumping little place on the weekends. Its fairly small and feels pretty homey.

The selection is much better than most bars in this state... 27 taps of craft/import brews and some damn good ones at that. I had a Yazoo Onward Stout off of nitro tap and a 2 for 1 Sierra Nevada Double DeBockel which put me under.

The food was really good as well. I had the East Side Muffaletta which was pretty good.

A good little bar here... (536 characters)

3 Crow is located in the 5 Points area of East Nashville along with about 4 other bars; which makes for a great place to visit or hang out for the night.

This place has a good atmosphere and despite only being about 1-2 miles from downtown it is full of people from the surrounding neighborhood rather than tourists. When the weather is mild they roll up the garage door windows which opens the place up to the outside. Darts are available as well as about 6 flat screens that are generally tuned to sports. Despite the amount of TVs, the place doesnt feel like a sports bar by any means.

I have never had bad service here. The bartenders arent too knowledgeable about the respective beers they serve, but they are courteous and attentive.

The selection here is possibly the best in East Nashville. They generally have offerings from Yazoo, DFH, Avery, various Belgians, and probably the best deal in town: Arrogant Bastard on tap for $3.75.

The food here has never disappointed; nothing exceptional but good quality and extremely reasonably priced.

This bar and Red Door Saloon East (which is around the corner) are my two favorite bars in Nashville. (1,157 characters)
