The Canvas Bar & Grill is located at the Hilton Hotel at the World Trade Center in Brazil, the hotel I stayed at during both of my visits to Brazil.
The Canvas Bar is located on the mezzanine level overlooking the lobby, and is a wide, tall, vast open space. There is a roughly two story projection screen that seems to run some Brazilian fashion TV all day... so there's gigantic images of beautiful women on in the background. All the time.
Layout is sparse, with comfortable chairs and refined if oddly matched tables and silverware and the like.
Food is solid upscale fare and as pricey as you'd expect. The Beef Carpaccio in particular was phenomenal.
But the highlight was the surprisingly strong beer selection. A handful of German wheat beers on tap (I believe they were Erdinger), bottles of Guinness and a couple other European imports, and about a dozen or so Brazilian craft brews. 4 or 5 from Baden Baden (their Red Ale, Cristal, Golden Ale, etc.), more from Eisenbahn, all three from Schmitt... served in their proper glassware.
Be warned that they were served ice (and I do mean ICE) cold, but the servers were enthusiastic, and very forgiving of my essentially non-existent Portugese. While it's a bit out of the way, and not the most centrally located, if you happen to be nearby or are looking for a good place to stay while in Brazil (particularly on business, the hotel was well accommodated for that), the Hilton and its Canvas Bar & Grill gets my solid recommendation.
