Stopped in here during my stay in Copenhagen. From notes.
Plan B is a really nice, small, homey place with sofas and comfy chairs giving it that friend's basement feel. There was a very small bar and a bartender willing to suggest stuff. He was the only one working but was never too busy for his customers. It seemed slightly cheaper than a few other beer bars in the city.
The Doors were playing on a record player I felt I could change if I felt like it and nice paintings all over the place. It seemed like a very laid back atmosphere with many people drinking tea and other non-beer beverages, just out to have a chat. The selection wasn't amazing but they had a keg of what I suppose was homebrew called 'attack of the 50 foot hop monster' by someone local which was very good. There were about 8 taps with fairly standard stuff and a few Mikkellers as well.
Overall, if you're looking for atmosphere and a place to chill out in Copenhagen, stop here. You might find something rare and unusual to drink as well.

The second stop on my four bar crawl.
This place really isn't a bar its more of a cafe that has good beer. Pretty cool inside very classic looking with hilarious paintings on the wall. They had a dj that played really weird music switching constantly from french lounge singers to 60's rock...Bartender was very nice and offered good suggestions, they had 8 taps and two fridges of beer with probably 50 beers. My problem is that there is no beer menu so it made it very hard to decide what I wanted. The bartender gave me three beers, all good decent selections.
This is a place worth stopping by as they have some interesting stuff, but not a place to spend a couple hours.

Attention BA's!!! This is a must visit. Oh sure, this place reminds me of worn shoe cafe, and is a bit cramped...but that only adds to the fun!
They had about 10 top notch micro taps, including 1000 IBU Mikkeller that blew my mind!!! Hard to find bottles from across the globe were on hand. I concentrated on Mikiller, but you could find anything you would like I am sure. I really liked the staff that was unobtrusive, but when engaged could spirited about beer...one of the staff dropped some F bombs...loved it!
I did not have the food, but it looked good. As with most places in Denmark, the prices are a bit high...but the quality makes up for it.
Overall, the cozy setting gave us reasons to meet with others enjoying a good beer as well. With such a large selection of beer, you can not go wrong. Many thanks to fellow BA's Bethany and Nick for showing me what a wonderful world Plan B can be! A must visit...

I've luckily had the chance to stop in this place a couple of times, but the review is based on my most recent visit in early March '09.
Plan B reminds me very much of a great cafe/coffee shop in terms of the overall look and feel of the place. Pretty chill during the day-time stop that I made, a couple of communal tables, more intimate seating toward the back, and some sidewalk seating (too cold when I was there).
Though, it just happens to have a really great beer selection. When I visited I thought I spied about 10 taps or so that were operating, that were mostly devoted to Danish micros which was a big bonus in my book.
However, the bottle selection is pretty outstanding. They had loads, and just to name drop a few brewer's they were carrying Jolly Pumpkin, Hoppin' Frog, a number of UK offerings like Traquair House, and a load of great Belgians.
Though I didn't engage the staff on my visit, the service was prompt and nice.
Overall, I really think this is a great place and should be a definite stop when visiting Copenhagen.

Plan B is the kind of place that you just can't believe it actually exists. From the outside it looks like a ordinary café, but when you enter you notice a fairly good selection of different beers on tap. Then when you look a little bit closer you notice that there's also a fridge with a lot of interesting beers.
The atmosphere of the place is quite good. From time to time they have a DJ that's playing music on a reasonable level in the inner room of the bar, on the two record players that's standing there (no CD's or digital music here). The furniture is quite worn, and when it starts falling apart it gets replaced by other worn furniture, so I suspect that the owner is bying them from flea markets or something similar.
The beer selection is very good, with interesting beers on tap and also on bottle. If the place isn't crowded you can even ask to go down into the beer cellar, which you enter through a hatch in the floor, and down there is where where you find the real gems.
The food is quite good, with a selection between either some sort of tapas plate or a variety of sandwiches. The food is very priceworthy, and you will definately not leave the place hungry if you order it. The only thing is that the food is not cooked on the premises, but is only prepared in the café.
This is definately one of the best beer bars in Copenhagen, and should not be missed.

Phenomenal cafe/beer bar with about a dozen Danish micros on draught and several hundred bottled beers. The owner was a friendly guy who just let my friend and I go into the basement cellar to pick out brews. He knew I was a beer hunter, which I appreciated. I was able to score several great Danish micros here and even a few Belgians I hadn't seen on my previous travels. I came here twice in three days, if that gives you any indication of the qualitiy of Plan B. A really strange, but marvelous place.
