Next level atmosphere and beer selection in the heart of Bayview. Burnhearts has always been one of the best beer bars in Milwaukee. Located on an unassuming residential corner, with a few patio tables outside. Inside the walls and ceiling are covered with antique beer signs, and vintage oddities. Underground indie music playing on the stereo. Opposite the bar side, an art nouveau style mural of flapper women of the Prohibition era decorates one wall, while a life-size wood carving of a nude figure stands watch at the window. In back there is a pool table, along with a few booths and more intimate seating options. Maybe a hidden patio off the back too, closed for the season.
Beer selection was incredible, they had half a dozen traditional lambics from Tilquin, Hanssens, and Girardin. 25 taps with an eclectic assortment of craft beer, cider, kombucha, wine, and cocktails. I was really surprised to see a BA blueberry wild ale on tap from Barrel + Beam from Marquette, MI. The bartender offered a free sample, which was awesome. She dealt patiently with a cantankerous regular, and chatted when it was slow.
Overall I loved it here and would happily return whenever visiting Milwaukee. Reminded me slightly of the Palm Tavern (RIP) though less small and Belgian focused. A great beer bar, among the best in the city along with Sugar Maple and Roman's.

Visited with my wife on a recent trip to Holland, MI and Milwaukee, WI.
Tried the following:
Three Floyds Space Station Middle Finger (draft)
Toppling Goliath XHops Series - Onyx (draft)
Both beers were fantastic, and the tap selection was impressive. My wife enjoyed her cocktail and canned Prosecco. In terms of atmosphere, this place exudes charm with a funky, honky-tonk vibe, red decorative lighting throughout the bar, and lots of quirky signs and memorabilia on the walls. Service was efficient as we never had to wait more than a minute or so for drinks. Our overall experience was great, and we would definitely come back.

Whenever we're in Milwaukee we stop here. The selection is eclectic although a little smaller than we are accustomed too. The service is top rate. The clientele interesting- always find someone to engage in a conversation with. Just wish they had more snacks than chips.

Great beer selection, shuffleboard and other games, relaxed atmosphere, and they organize a lot of fun events fours the community! There are also a few outside tables for nice weather.

Probably my favorite bar in Milwaukee. Highly recommend going here if you are in Bayview. Lots of games to play along with shuffleboard.
Oh yeah, and the beer is awesome!

Dont waste you time at the other bayview joints. Check this place out for the retro beats and solid beer offerings.

Hit up Burnhearts shortly after opening (3pm) on a weekday back in March '14. Happy hour included $10 flight of five incredible draft selections. (local smoked sour, BCBS, Dark Horse to name a few) Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. He whipped out an Imperial Biscotti Break Natale w/ cherries from the back. Super awesome experience!

The quality of what they have is very good. I don't enjoy the vibe at all. Also, service is terrible if you aren't a regular.
