A 2L Russian River-style swing top growler filled on September 5, 2008.

A: The pale ale is hardly pale. Rather, it pours with a dark amber hue that doesn't shy away from chocolate syrup brown. A decent head, over two fingers, arose on both the first and second pours from the growler.

S: The aroma showcases the grains, bready with some flatness in the malts. Hops, citrusy but mild, also add to the aroma.

T: The ale is mild, flavorful without overdoing it. The malts are grainy, bready with a soft taste. The citrus hops atop the malts add just enough grapefruit, grass and herbs without scarring the palate. The hops sit on the tongue for a long time, creating a good finish.

M: The ale is well-carbonated, vibrant with a pleasant hop finish. Another well-crafted offering from OBBS (which has gone through the juvenation machine of late, IMHO).

D: This growler is serving me well during a Sunday of football. A well-balanced pale ale.
