A - The one part of the beer that I felt was on-target. Bright, clear yellow with a small but fluffy head and ample lacing.

S - The smell has a little bit of biscuity malt underneath some hops that I can only characterize as funky, and to a lesser degree floral.

T - The taste is as light and delicate as you might expect, but too hop-forward in my opinion. A little tropical fruitiness is present right at the tip of the tongue. The flavors are too out-of-balance for me to call it a good Kolsch. More like a mild APA or maybe a blond.

M - Not crisp enough to match the flavor or style. Not quite creamy, but somewhere just shy of it.

O - A Kolsch is a beer that should be to style, and this one is too hoppy, too thick feeling, and just not quite right. It's not necessarily bad, but probably not one I'd get again.

Poured on-tap at the brewery in a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, crystal clear, straw gold coloring with carbonation throughout the body, and a clingy, foamy, white head. Nose of subtle toasted grains, floral highlights, and hints of fruity esters. Flavors are toasted forward, with a tangy sweetness of butter and honey, and a bitter hops bite in the backbone. Light and smooth bodied, with a roasted and bitter aftertaste. Smooth, slightly sweet lingering finish.
