Stopped in here the other night for a few ticks and a few games of cornhole during my recent trip to OBX (I've gone to OBX at least once every year for my entire life, even since I've been marooned out west).

A great ambiance at this place. Both times I've been here, they've had a live band playing. This time it was a pretty good reggae band from the reggae hotbed of Washington, DC. Nice large indoor area and a huge outdoor area where you can play cornhole and play on some weird playground thing, if you're drunk enough to do so. Unfortunately you sometimes have to PAY for this ambiance - there was a $5 cover charge last time I went.

Now you know I'm always the guy you can count on to give you the scoop on the cougar scene, even now that I'm engaged. OBX is not exactly a young area, and there are plenty of 40-something cougs on the prowl. If you're not a complete tool, expect to get hit on, especially if you're a champion beer ticker like myself, since women can't resist the allure of a guy like that. I had a rabid pack of cougs approach me (well, they probably weren't any older than me, but still). A couple of them were rather large specimens, so I had to be very tactful in my backing away. I had beers to tick and cornhole to play.

Anyway, I digress. The beers here are hit-or-miss. Some are very mediocre, whereas others, like the Stormy Roses Stout, are excellent. Beers can be served in samplers of about 4oz per beer, which is ideal for ticking.

The place is a little understaffed and pretty busy on summer nights, so my advice is to order several beers at once when you can get a bartender's attention.

Food is pretty good. Nothing's going to blow you away, but it's above average for such an establishment.

Prices are about what you'd expect. Not particularly high or low.

Finally, one good convenience of this place is that there are often several cabs waiting outside from about midnight to 2am to take your plastered ass home.

Nice place, especially for OBX. I'll be back next time.

Stopped in here after a a lunch at Awful Arthurs MP 6 OBX its more of a restaurant than a brew pub/brewery clean inside with good service did not eat the food as i already ate but it looked good i ordered a flight of 4- 5oz brews , the brews were just average and they did not have many choices , this is a tourist stop as its on bypass rd #158 heavily traveled , it is close to chips wine and beer store, so go there and try this place its worth a stop

Went here in the summer of 2013 when I was on a vacation in the Outer Banks. Made this the one place I needed to see besides the beach.

Cool, funky atmosphere and decent food. Limited selection of beers that were pretty meh, but I was glad to try them. Not sure if I would go again unless I was really thirsty. Was a bit on the pricey side, but what do you expect for OBX?

If you're on the Outer Banks, this is where you will go. The place has a pretty eclectic, funky kind of vibe. You'll notice a giant wind turbine in the back, which helps to power the brewery. There's also a pirate ship playground out back for the kids. Inside, there is a ton of wall art from all over the place; everything from musical themes to superheroes, newspaper clippings to Viking profiles on burlap. It's pretty cool. Old school bar to the right of the entrance, with a lot of rustic feel and brass. Lots of table seating, as well. The staff is great. We were there with a toddler and an infant, and they were completely accommodating on a fairly busy day. There were 6 beers on tap...I'm guessing they run a little low when it's off season, and pick back up to full capacity for the tourist time. The food was great. Pretty dynamic gastro pub style offerings, with plenty of seafood, which is a must on the coast. I highly recommend stopping here if you find yourself in the OBX.

Stopped here during my labor day vacation. Place is pretty big. 2 floors with a large bar downstairs. Our entire party thought the food was pretty good. A little bit pricey for a brew pub but I understand it's a vacation spot. They only had 4 beers on tap. I tried all four and found them all pretty mediocre. Maybe the best place around the outer banks area but that isn't saying much.

Decent food selection, nothing special, expected a lot more given what we had read before our visit.

Flights were a nice option. Beer was good. Their signature beer with Lemongrass was ok (not worth $16 for a 4pk though).
