The clean white head is almost dense in its heavy bubbling and its rockiness, though the retention is just more than average. It does leave some light patching behind. The beer itself is a thick, opaque medium yellow.
Pineapple is there though not as strongly as in the flavor (or as it should be), which makes a bit of wheat, dust and clove the only other detectable notes.
The taste actually brings more of the style out than Horny Goat beers tend to; the pineapple makes a good show, sweet and tart with a little sourness to it, while gentle notes of banana and clove do come out. It's a bit musty, too, but for a brewery that either can't figure out what a beer style is going for or panders to those that don't, this one actually gets it...plus pineapple.
It's light-bodied, crisp and decently smooth with a certain creaminess. It starts cleaner than it ends. All in all, it does well.

Thanks to the incredible woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cloudy, light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of spices, cloves, some banana. Taste is the same, spices, banana, a touch of pineapple, highly refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a tasty and very sessionable beer.

I very much wanted to like this beer. I like Hefeweizens a bunch but a pineapple version is just wrong. Honestly, I don't even really taste the pineapple. Instead, I get more a of a saccharine-chemical sweetness that's bitter in the wrong way. Maybe it's just the 6 pack I got, but the beer was skunky tasting too. I've known some Hefeweizens to have a bit of funk to them, but this was just kind of gross. Now what to do with the remaining 4 beers....

Poured into a shaker pint glass.
Look: Hazy rusty tangerine body. A white fizzy head with little retention and no lacing.
Aroma: Right away I get some typical banana notes, but little else. Maybe a faint touch of pineapple, if that.
Taste: Pineapple slowly emerges over a malty banana and clove body. The pineapple is so subdued that if you're not actively looking for it, it's not there. A tart finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and somewhat creamy.
Overall: The pineapple element was awful, because it wasn't there, and if it was it was a watered down "pineapple extract" kind of taste.

A: Pours a cloudy golden apricot in color with a moderate amount of active visible carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass and some faint golden yellow highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy white head that slowly reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a couple of slightly thicker spots and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of banana and clove over lighter aromas of wheat malt and just a hint of tropical pineapple.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of wheat malts which is followed by a moderate flavor of banana + clove. Towards the finish, there is a light flavor of sweet tropical pineapple which increases slightly as the beer warms up. The pineapple is slightly artificial tasting.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Relatively smooth with a hint of creaminess.
O: Slightly disappointing, I was hoping for a bit stronger presence of pineapple and a more natural pineapple flavor (not so much like a chemically/artificial pineapple). Otherwise this beer is pretty easy to drink and enjoyable, just not what I was expecting or what seemed to be advertised.

I CANnot CANtain myself after having returned to The CANQuest (TM) in earnest! I spent most of the Summer of 2014 involved in a Bottle Divestment, which has now been accomplished to my satisfaction.
From the CAN: "Carefully Crafted. Famously Fun."; "A German style wheat beer with strong banana and clove notes from the yeast, and a soft mouthfeel from the high wheat content in the malt bill, with pineapple juice added post-fermentation for a refreshing and unique take on this traditional beer."
How interesting that this is a Pineapple Hefeweizen! Rivertowne Pour House in Da Burgh has been making one for a while and Evil Genius just came out with I Love Lamp.
I Cracked! it open and initiated an inverted Glug, producing a finger of fluffy, bone-white head that quickly fell to wisps. Color was a very cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was strong with the pineapple juice and I will take that over the banana esters every day of the week. Mouthfeel was kind of thin and prickly, not at all what I was expecting, based on their verbiage. Taste was definitely banana-ester forward! Man, I wish that they had added more pineapple juice to offset this. Finish was fruity, but really sweet, and I just CAN't get behind it. It would be good in the Summertime or if you have guests who really dig fruit beers, but I am underwhelmed for my part.

Served in a tumbler.
I've honestly been thinking about how good of an idea a pineapple hefeweizen would be. Then I saw the Horny Goat logo. Welp, it's worth a try, at least, right? It pours a cloudy brass-gold topped by a finger or so of white foam. The nose comprises somewhat fake-seeming pineapple juice, clove, light cracked wheat, and a touch of lemon zest. The taste brings in more of the same, the pineapple actually jiving pretty well with the clove (though any banana character is completely drowned out in the process), though its seeming artificiality holds things back a bit. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a wet feel. Overall, a surprisingly not-all-that-bad beer from the randy farm animal, but that fake-ish pineapple doesn't do it any favors. (I acknowledge that it might actually be genuine pineapple juice, but I'm saying it comes across as fake-seeming for whatever reason.) Beyond that, though, this was actually pretty enjoyable. Fair enough.
