From notes 6/15/13: Pours an opaque deep straw producing 2 fingers of white, fizzy, foamy, somewhat lived head that leaves a wash of streaky lace. Aroma is very thin biscuity malt, honey, lemon and vanilla. Taste is a slightly more robust version of the nose. It remains delicate but has more sweet character being comprised of cracker malt, honey, lemon, other thinner citrus and a peppery finish. Aftertaste is faintly metallic with hints of honey-lemon and vanilla with a subdued but lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is light bodied with high carbonation producing a peppery bite; lightly creamy, dry and crisp.

I am a fan of Horny Goat for some inexplicable reason. I do know that like Atwater, they are very hit-or-miss, but I credit their efforts, plus they CAN many of their beers, which is a selling point for me. Take me or leave me, but that's how I roll.
From the bottle: "Craft Brewed in Wisconsin"; The Goat has ensconced himself in a barrel!
I Pop!ped the cap and began a gentle pour that briefly raised a finger of soapy, bone-white head that quickly fell to wisps. Color was a slightly hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) and since they are only interested in the finest, purest gold, the Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus declined a visit. Nose smelled oddly sharp, slightly sour. Acetaldehyde? Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was fairly sweet, there was a definite corn presence, but the taste was marred. It was not as strong as the nose had led me to expect, but it was not as clean as a Genny Cream Ale, which is what I gather that they were trying to evoke. Finish was, again, sharpish, but difficult to quantify. It really did not hold the same flavor as the nose indicated, but then again, it wasn't quite right, either. I'd put it around semi-dry. Was the yeast overworked? A definite swing & a miss.

Pours to a crystal clear gold, with a thin, white head. Head dissipates very quickly, leaving almost no lacing. Tiny particles are suspended within the clear gold volume. Odor is sour and lightly skunky. The taste is almost identical to the smell. Flavors other than sour and skunk are lacking. Hearty carbonation gives this a heavy feel when swallowed. This one's a belcher. I would compare this to Genessee Cream Ale-which I feel exactly the same way about. Priced too high for the quality. Build your own 6-pack for $7.99

12 oz bottle poured into shaker pint. Yellow body with white head and no lace. Aroma is corn, grass, grainy malts. Taste is similar - macro brew flavors of wheat/grain, weak grassy hops, a bit of sweet corn. Medium body, mildly creamy texture, aggressive carbonation, metallic finish.

Aroma is grains, mild/medium sweetness and a small hint of tea. The flavor is very similar to the aroma.

It was OK. The sales associate told me that this was similar to Spotted Cow from New Glarus Brewery. He wasn't even close. I could only drink half and threw the rest away. I'm gonna pawn off the rest of my 6 pack to my brothers.
