12oz bottle poured into a pint
Taken from notes, 2015
A- murky golden-orange with a bunch of sediment floating around, small foamy white head reduces to a ring around the glass
S- sugary malt and alcohol dominate, fruity and piney hops poke through
T- sugary and sweet up front with some grainy notes, faint fruity hops, alcohol on the finish with a bit of fruity hop
M- medium body and carbonation, foamy mouthfeel and finish
O- way too malty and sweet for an IPA

DATE: April 16, 2017... Easter Sunday home with the family... GLASSWARE: Liberty Craft House IPA... lacking life save a solitary bubble or two, the body pours a light golden amber with a head that descends from a foamy, soapy white to a smear of spots...lemon grass and light grapefruit are the predominant aroma, with light biscuit suggesting a malty backbone... sudsy, soapy and thin--not an alluring mouthfeel.... the aftertaste lingers with some maltiness, and the buzz--if there is one--resides in the throat.... lemon, honey, biscuit, and floral accents deliver a sweetness that belies an IPA.... a strange take on the style, leaving me quenched but not necessarily satisfied... Horny Goat really hasn't hit a solid shot yet for me, but this at least makes an effort to stir some positive reaction... I struggle to see the India in this--even the ABV is weak...

Golden color with a faint hop smell
Very sweet and grainy with an astringent finish
With so many good IPA...why buy this one...and why bother to export?

12 oz can. Pours clear light straw gold with a big fluffy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is subdued - sweet sugary malts with some soft fruit and a hint of sulfur.
The flavor is sweet bready malt with a little soft fruit and some grassy hops in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a pretty subdued basic IPA.

Love the name, but not the beer. Will keep it short.
A: clear pale copper color. Long lived head, lots of suds and lace, clear body, well carbonated.
a
S: Fine, no objection. It's sweet grain aroma with hints of floral, grassy citrus hops.
T+F: Pale and tepid. A light flavor of bready malts, too many cereal grains and a mild hops. Light grassy and herbal notes, with mild bitterness. Watery light bodied feel, thin, moderate carbonation.
Fine. Weak and tepid, but drinkable.

Horny Goat Brewing Co. "Hopped Up And Horny"
12 fl. oz. can, coded but not freshness dated
$1.79 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes: Clear deep golden body beneath a full head of frothy bright white foam. Good retention and lacing. Citrusy, piney, and malty in the nose. It's not a bold aroma, but you wouldn't miss it. What exactly the "citrus" is, I'm not sure. It's kind of like an orange and grapefruit blend. All of these things carry over into the flavor, which of course is much fuller. The malt is pretty solid with a caramel note to it, and I'm wondering if this is showing signs of oxidation but I'm not getting that "wet cardboard" thing yet. Or perhaps the hops are just masking it. Without freshness dating I have no clue, but somehow I think this beer is supposed to taste like it does to me right now. It's not bad by any means, but it's far from great. Overall: Average.
