Bottle poured into 12oz pint glass

A- Clear Amber with a minuscule head which fades immediately.

S- Citrusy grapefruit and piney hops.

T- Lots of grapefruit flavors. Ends with a citrusy rind aftertaste.

M- Lots of carbonation. Light bodied beer with not a lot of substance to it. Oily/buttery coating that sticks to the palate.

O- Needs some revamping. A maltier backbone might bring some balance. Overall, I am not impressed.

Poured a clear amber, not a fantastic head, disappeared leaving no trace.

A real buttery note to the smell, with grapefruit in the background.

Some grapefruit, but surrounded by butter, grass, and a musty finish.

Highly carbonated, yet mouthfeel somewhat thin.

This was just missing on all counts for me. I wasn't impressed.

Not knowing what style this ale was supposed to be, I still didn't know after two sips. It is a very light weight APA, a very easy drinking but not especially hopped up per the name (why do they do that?).

Typical of the style, it has a nice light color and a crisp aroma. The taste is somewhat less bitter than I might expect, but it grows on you as a clean, refreshing version of APA. Still, I want a little more from an APA. The sampler I bought had six styles in it. So far one was a just OK cream ale, and now this. A repeat purchase will require some improvenment from the rest.

The look isn't bad: a tight, very nearly white head rises to about a finger in height and recedes to a sturdy foam over an almost completely clear dark gold-amber brew, showing some stick and leaving a mix of spotting and patching as it goes.
I get some really bready malts on the nose, breads being the main aspect before some leafy hops kick in. A touch of a floral element and just a hint of caramel sweetness are in here as well. It's not as though anything's really difficult to pick up, though it's not stellar. There's not a whole lot of power or complexity, but I'd call it average.
The taste isn't an improvement; in fact, it gets a little weird. Celery is the first flavor that I get. There's a sort of watery element, such that I'd even have trouble describing it, as though "watery" itself is a flavor in this beer. Hops come in at the middle but are more pithy than anything, getting a little bracing in the finish, and somehow the malts aren't here to add any balance. I don't know what could have happened between the aroma and the flavor to get this.
The mouthfeel's not heinously light, though it is light. Crispness is consistent though gets a bit fizzy. It remains active the whole way, never going flat or watery, though it's nothing great.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Served chilled.

A) Golden amber, with nearly a 2 finger white head. The head settled to a dusting. Good retention, spotty lacing.

S) Pale malts, grain, a bit grassy, and a little flower petal sweetness.

T) Quite bitter, but not over the top. Seems to lack balance. It has a lot of zest. There is an uncomfortable lingering citrus rind. I enjoy citrus zest and rind, but this is not done to my liking with this particular brew. It gets a little better with some warmth.

M) Light to a lighter medium body. This is well carbonated. It has a prickly rind coating. It sticks to everything, all the way to the back of the mouth, down your throat.

O) Disappointing is what I would say if my expectations were higher, but they were not, so really this was spot on. Overall, this was not an enjoyable APA. Sorry, I cannot recommend this beer.

Reviewed on July 4, 2012. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a standard pint glass. No date, no abv listed on bottle or label.
Poured a filtered golden boday with a very thin head, not eve 1/2 a finger and it dissipated quickly leaving no lacing. Smelled of a light hoppy aroma and a touch of malts. Very thin in taste and body, a low amount of carbonation with a dry finish. Very easy to drink, not much going on. Not an exceptional beer, needs more hops and malts to give it some more body.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Bright, copper/gold in color, with a moderate head of bright white foam.
Aroma-Faint piney hops
Taste-Grassy hops with a strong bitter hop bite that lasts to the finish. Pretty much a one-trick pony here. Bitter hops and not much else. Meh.

Pours a clear golden copper color with a solid half inch ivory head that dissipates fairly quickly into a layer of foam, leaving brief lacing.

Bready caramel malt and a hint of citrus pith in the background form the initial aroma. There's a hint of pine and some floral hop character. Alcohol notes are reminiscent of malt liquor.

Astringent hops and an overly toasted malt character comprise the flavor, which is likely due to an off combination of bittering and flavoring hops. There's a strong underlying grapefruit tang that keeps the beer drinkable until the fairly bitter finish. Citadel malt provides a note of sweetness to accentuate herbal and floral hops.

Body is moderate, with moderate carbonation, significant astringency, and a bit of alcohol warmth.

I'd say the brewery got their hops at a fire sale. They're in decent quantity, but the quality and variety just are not sufficient.

12oz bottle into pilsner glass, almost didn't buy because of the corny name.

Look is a brownish orange-amber with a small head that fades to a ring. Smell is mostly plastic. Don't know what happened here- there are cascade hops, but behind alcohol and an offensive plastic smell. Taste is underwhelming as well, hops are dull and medicinal, malt is roasted and enjoyable, but muted.

Weak, should have followed my instinct and avoided.

This beer looks so novelty it's killing me, you know when you look at a new beer and it looks so bad that you know not to buy it. But there's that sick part of your brain that wants you to try it it. Pours a brilliant orange tinted copper color with a slightly off white head billows thick and forms nice scattered lacing as it dwindles. Aroma hints of caramel and stale hops slightly herbal/citric/and dank weed with a mix of stinky feet. Flavor is horrible, cardboard grainy water with bitter hop pellets blending through each sip finishes with a bit too much garlic. Mouthfeel has medium to light body with moderately heavy carbonation flowing through. Overall if you like hops and you like good beer, you want enjoy this novelty offering.

Horny Goat Hopped Up and Horny

LOOK: clear pale copper color. Short livid head and looks to be well carbonated.

SMELL: sweet grainy aroma with hints of floral, grassy citrus as well.

TASTE: Very light flavor of bready malts, spent yeast, cereal grains and a mild hopping. Small grassy and herbal notes, with low bitterness. Watery caramel, with a light bodied feel, thin, moderate carbonation.

For lovers of a well hopped pale ale, there may be disappointment, but this is a pretty average ale that is lageresque In the flavor. Could stand to employ a few more hops. Less than average but not too bad.
