A - Poured a dark brown soda color, with a very thin head that quickly dissipated.

S - A faint smell of coffee and chocolate, but very little smell at all.

T - Again not a lot going on here. Light coffee, and roasted notes. Just not a lot of taste.

M - Very thin to be called a milk stout. No cream feel at all. Frankly it was watery.

D - Not a great attempt at a stout in my opinion. Possibly the Coors Light of stouts. I suppose it would be OK for your friend that doesn't like this style of beer. It's certainly drinkable and light, but it's a stout for people who don't like stouts.

Got this from a mixed 12-pack.

Poured a very dark brown almost black color with a tan head. Sweet smell with some chocolate and a little coffee. Flavor is very light, sweet with some malt to it. Chocolate flavor with a bitter finish. Smooth drinking beer. I liked it, but I probably couldn't drink too many of them in an evening.

The head is okay, but the color really isn't. While the whole of it is a dark brown color, it pours out lighter and, even in the glass, has red hues and plenty of light shining through while I can almost see through it. The head, small, creamy and tan, keeps a tight foam after it drops and leaves reasonable, if not pretty good, lacing.
The aroma only gives me roasted malts and it's possible from the smell of it that there is, in fact, some lactose here.
The roast comes out in the flavor more as an almost astringent charred note, while it gets a little tangy and sour beside. It doesn't have the strength, really, to pass as a porter (even one that isn't American), much less a stout.
The body and feel is also where there's either a bit of failure on the brewer's part to understand the style or "gateway" gone too far. It's far too light, far too thin, far too much on the crisp side than smooth. If anything, one of the strong suits of a milk stout is that the lactose gives it a smooth, creamy feel. This beer severely lacks that.

Appearance: Ok foam on the glass. Motor oil brown/black. The consistency of this is definitely thin.

Smell: Some faint coffee chocolate. Really nothing overall. There should definitely be stronger notes in a milk stout.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Some sour coffee notes and that's about it. Mouthfeel is extremely watered down and off-putting.

Overall Drinkability: I can safely say this is not one of my favorite stouts. I don't recommend it. A below average stout. Nothing terrible overall, but nothing good. I'd say everything is bad-to-average.

Bought a sampler becuase it was cheap and their advertising was fun. While the rest of the offerings from Horny Goat were ok, this beer ranks as one of the worst I ever had.

A complete miss on style, tastes like they added some black patent malt to a mild ale. There was no sweetness, I can't imagine how little lactose was put into the beer, no roast flavors which is what makes a stout, just a little black malt bitterness astringency.

They should pull this from their beer list, becuase calling it a milk stout is just wrong.

Yuch!

Pours copper brown with a thick off-white head that is nice looking.

Nose is a very simple honeyed coffee.

Mouthfeel is very thin and watery.

Flavors are short and mild. There is a light flavor of watered coffee with a hint of toffee flavor but very short and quick and one really has to search.

A medium bitter and short watered coffee finish.

Not one to try again.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a cola color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of coffee, some chocolate. Taste is the same, a bit mild. Coffee up front, a bit of chocolate at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

Beer #4 from sampler pack, and things continue to speed up down a slippery slope.

A: Caramel cola highlights the pour which comes off charcoal black in the glass. A khaki head is patchy and quick to dissipate without much fanfare or lace with is a sparse broken ring.

S: Dry chocolate, sweet black liquor, which quickly fades and loses its strength, even when constantly agitated.

T: Watery, after sampling 3 of their beers this one continues to fall in line with low expectations. How hard is it to mess up a stout/porter style? Well evidently a lot easier then I thought. Sweet but for a brief moment with no real strength for chocolate. Complete watery mess. Slight signs of watery schwarz like malting, not really sweet, a bit dry with no real chocolate base or flavor or milky quality, just a watery run off. oh did i mention watery?

M: Light bodied and a bit watery, once again unimpressed and not gonna mince words or feelings.

D: Overall drank like a watered down scharwz, rather a sweet and creamy milk stout. Disappointing from the get-go and surprised how well they managed to screw up an fairly simple style to execute. No sweet chocolate malts, milky lactose, just a disappointment. 4 down 2 to go.

12 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada Imperial pint. No date or info.

A - A bit light for a stout, it pours a clear deep mahogany color. A creamy and rich one-finger, light tan head popped up. Decent retention and bits of lacing. Oh, its also called Stacked. A MILK stout. With a silhouette of a huge-boobed goat-woman on the label. HAHA I get it!

S - I can barely smell a single thing coming from this beer. A teeny roasted malt thing but holy crap. There is no aroma there!

T - A hint at roasted malts but the feel comes out more in he bitter, dry finish from the roasted malts as opposed to any real flavor. There really is almost nothing there.

M - Dry and bitter from the roasted malts with a medium body and a carbonated finish.

D - Hmm...here's the problem. Do I rate it's drinkability based on the actual ability to consume it, or the desire to do so? How about a combination of the two variables: There is no flavor so naturally, it'll go down just fine which leads me to the desire. Man, I feel sorry for the poor souls who'll get the other 5 of these from me in trades. (Yeah, I feel even worse I bought a 6 pack cause there were no singles)
