Pours a dark reddish brown with thin head. Smells earthy and light chocolate. Although I can taste a little brownie from the chocolate maltiness, it is ruined by the light body and kind of a cheap cider taste. Light body, sweet malt aftertaste with slight cider flavor. Not worth a repeat drinking.

Mostly brown with a hint of red. Very light tan head that fades quickly and leaves little evidence that it was there. The nose is roasted malts, cocoa powder, some sweetness and a tiny bit of brown sugar. The taste is sweet and reminiscent of brownie batter with cocoa and sweetness. There is a hoppy bitterness at the end. The mouthfeel is thin and the beer is decently carbonated. Not a bad beer but not spectacular.

Enjoyed from the tall boy can in a pint glass. This porter pours with a very nice rocky head of tan foam that sits atop a dark brown ale with nice lacing. Nose of sweet malts and little else. Flavors exceed the nose with notes of dark cocoa colliding with sweet brown sugars with a touch of vanilla on the back. Smooth medium mouth feel with good carbonation that helps with the malt forwardness and slight cream notes of the brew. A malt bomb that is solid for a session brew. No cinnamon was noticed anywhere which is actually fine by me. A decent brew.

L: reddish brown
S: cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon and caramel, plus some other spices....almost like cookies baking in the oven
T: cocoa, caramel and chocolate
F: thin, should be heavier for a porter
O: almost a porter-light, decent flavor that's more reminiscent of an English brown ale. Got a 4-pack on clearance at my local shop but probably wouldn't recommend it. Almost like they tried to throw too many flavors in which hurt the end result.

Appearance: Pours from can a caramel brown with ruby highlights. Average head and tan suds. No true lace to speak of.
Aroma: Nutty chocolate malts, maybe a touch of maple or burnt brown sugar. Not bad.
Taste: Sweet and light in body, this “porter” is quite enjoyable overall, with chocolate, nuts, and caramel notes. I don’t get much real “brownie” taste, and this ale seems much nearer to a traditional brown ale than a porter to me, but it is enjoyable and quite drinkable, and I’d have no problem drinking more of these.
