Little Woodrow's in the Village is my go to bar. I like the nice wooden patio, and warm wooden interior. It is usually a bit dark and not too rowdy when I go in (which is my personal preference for a bar). The gals behind the bar are always great and well versed in the beers they are serving.

It can get packed, but it never seems as commercial to me as the Flying Saucer (which I don't like) and is much better priced than the Gingerman.

They don't serve food, but you can either order something delivered, or if you take my advice order something from Istanbul next door.

They have different drink specials each night of the week and you can check those out at their website.

If you haven't stopped in, you should.

A wide, wooden deck with a short ramp in the center led to a large wooden deck with the entry in the center of two garage doors. Table seating right, a red felt pool table far right, slatted inverse "S"-shaped bar off to the left; men's down center, then right. Bank of 28 taps against back wall. Left wall held 3 coolers of bottles. "Only In Texas, Baby!" read the signage above the coolers. Off to right were electronic games and two English dart boards plus a red-felt pool table. Overhead was resplendent with signage of all shapes and stripes.

Mom:? Maybe. Not bad, not great.

I've just started visiting this bar recently now that I have more time on my hands on Wednesday early afternoons. During the time that I'm there the college kids are still in school and theres not much of a crowd. Its a plus that I can get a 24oz pour of Real Ale for $4 and that they have steel tip darts in the corner. The place isn't all that big but they have a decent sized deck to hang out on out front and tvs inside to watch whatever game is on. They have close to twenty taps but nothing that isn't at the other better bars in Houston. I haven't had any problems with service as I don't go there during peak hours but the bartender has been nice and quick for me. So I think its a decent place to go to during the workday when its not packed.

A big wood bar, tables, and a couple of TV's as you first walk in. There is a big beer garden in the font as well. A typical college bar at Rice Village, but still fun if you come at the right hours (not late on Friday or Saturday). They have a lot of taps, some good, some not so good. Some Saint Arnold's year round beers and a seasonal, which is good. They also have Stone IPA, New Belgium, and some Anchor beers as the highlights. Mirror Pond is new as of late. The typical British beers, macro and Euro lagers as well. Considering what is next door it is not as impressive as it could be alone. The bottle list consists of some Belgian brews, Chimay, Duvel, ect. They also have a lot of fruity Belgian lambics in bottles. Several US micro beers in bottles, but overall nothing I can't get next door. The service is decent. It has gotten a lot better over the last couple of years. The people that work there actually care about the product. Unlike when I first visited.

Overall, a fun place to hang out with friends. Way better than the Midtown location.

Went here during a weekend in Houston. We went during a Saturday afternoon and there was a decent crowd there. Lots of funny signs hanging up around the bar along with lots of beer bottles along the walls. They had a Great Lakes Brewery Dortmunder Gold bottle on the wall and I was disappointed to learn that they did not sell it. They have an OK selection of bottles and basically the standard stuff on tap. They had some good deals on specials. A good college bar, but if you want a bigger selection you are better off going next door to The Ginger Man.

I don't understand how places like this stay in business, oh wait, drunk college kids keep this place running.... This establishment does have a below average selection of beers and If you go at down times, you may get lucky and not have a shitty time but honestly, this place blows.... Extremely rude bartenders who don't know anything about real beer, and the atmosphere is not fun at all. Prices can be hit or miss. This place doesn't belong on BeerAdvocate! ... does this place serve beer? yes .. does this place serve craft beer? No ...i'm sorry Abita purple haze is not craft beer, and wow, a bottle of chimay was seen, but that does not make this place a good beer bar, just a college drunk house.. Avoid this dump at all costs!!!
