BUYER BEWARE!!!

They sell beer that is out of date and was made 9 months ago. When you bring it back and their entire stock of the beer you purchased is also out of date they refuse to give a refund and only offer store credit.

Terrible business practices from the owner who was "to busy" to even come down and talk to me - the customer.

The poor manager clearly has had to deal with this stuff before from the owner. He looked like he was ready to quit. Judging by previous reviews, I can understand why. No wonder they have big signs all over for needing to hire people - who would want to work under that?

This place had the best selection but was the worst layout I'd ever seen. It's a COVID nightmare - and while I'm not into the fear pandering like many others are, it is obviously too cramped for anyone concerned about it in ANY WAY to be in there for any length of time. They have baskets but you'll inevitably need a cart, which are made out of wood, in the shape of a box, and awkward to steer, plus they take up the width of the aisle completely, making knocking beer off of the shelves a genuine concern. Also to mention the giant oak barrels on display on each aisle corner and the stacks of beer on the floor just laying there, it's a stressful environment and acts more like a warehouse obstacle course. Said stacks of beer have no price anywhere, and it's impossible to flag anyone down who has a price scanner or can get to a register without waiting for the 5 customers in line to "use" it. With 4 packs ranging anywhere between $8 and $36, it's important to know just what you're getting into. That bottle of barrel aged stout could be $9 or it could be $32. Huge difference. = Vibe gets a 1.

The beer selection is just massive though. It turns out they order way too much of everything so they had I shit you not, over 20 different sours from Southern Grist but none of them were over 3 months old so I was okay with that. Lots of their IPAs and stouts too.

I was able to gather pretty much everything I needed there, but the big let down is that they don't break apart four packs. If they did, I'd have been the happiest guy on earth that day. I would have walked out with probably $500 in singles, there were that many choices there. Instead I dropped about $300 on SG 4 pack sours and a few of their stouts like Money Moves and Switch the Drip, but they also had some good BIBCO selection as well as pretty much anything you'd find in the southeastern USA except for MS and LA beers.

Two of the employees were accommodating and nice, the other two I spoke to acted as if a price check was the biggest bother in the world. Which brings me to my next point - nearly nothing is priced and many things are in the wrong spot.

More like a beer warehouse than a store, this is one you should check out once COVID clears up. Until then, be very cautious, there is not even six feet of distance between ANYTHING in this store.

First beer stop on the Get Out Of Texas Summer Relief Tour (first stop was lunch at Cozy Corner in Memphis, highly recommended). Just before five on Wed Jul 18. Easy access from I40 (Church St exit). Goofy wooden carts. Really good selection of locals, nice selection overall. No pricing on more than a few items, which was annoying. Prices a little on the high side, average regular six pack was just under $10, specialty/seasonals were $12-15 for a four pack. Much of their stock is not refrigerated as well. Despite those drawbacks I'd definitely return if I was in the area

One of my favorite shops in Nashville, prime location, definetly recomend it to visitors. If it comes to Nashville, they get it. The store itself gives 80% of its space to wine and liquor, but they do pack in a lot of quality beer in a relatively small area. This makes it a bit unorganized, but its worth taking your time to really look around. Everything bottled (normal 6 pack style) is available in singles, cans unfortunately not.

Great bottle selection, growler station still little limited compared to other places. You sometimes have to hunt someone to get growler filled. Their liquor and wine selection is exceptional, so great one stop place.

Really top notch liquor store near Vanderbilt. Two sides. Low gravity side and high gravity side. Very nice store with a wide variety of beer on both sides. Had Green Flash Silva Stout, a lot of Laguintas, Founders, Stone, etc. Was disappointed they did not have more special release beers from the local breweries but they had a lot of their normal offerings. Staff was at least knowledgeable as to where things were located if you asked for something specific. Definitely should have came here first instead of last.

The big boy in Nashville liquor distribution. Very open and inviting store, but starting to get a little cramped in the high gravity beer area. A very good selection and often has things your local store never got or is already out of. Will be interesting to see how they embrace or ignore the changes in the liquor laws.

Stopped in here on the way back to the hotel, heard I may be able to find some local bottles. Atmosphere was standard liquor/bottle shop with people milling around all over the place. Service was decent. Was asked twice if I needed any help, I didn't tho. Quality seemed pretty solid. I checked a few of the bottles and they were all within their dates. Selection was pretty good but I didn't see any local bottles I was on the lookout for which kind of sucked. Only thing I thought about buying was a special sweet water but I decided it wasn't worth it. Prices were reasonable on most, a few were a little overpriced. Overall a good bottle shop overall, just nothing amazing.

Midtown Wine & Spirits is still one of the best places to go to buy beer in the state of Tennessee. The store has a dual liquor store / beer store setup because of the state's laws.

Liquor store (left side): the beer greats you as you walk in...literally, so be careful not to trip over any of it. It appears the beer set up was an after thought for this liquor store as it is all over the place in the front portion of the store. They are somewhat organized by seasonal releases, local, domestic, imports, belgians, etc. The selection is fair, but for TN it is great! The staff is pretty knowledgeable. If you are looking for a high gravity (>6.33%), this is a good place to go.

Beer store (right side): There is a large selection of low gravity beers. Local breweries such as Yazoo and Blackstone are highlighted, as well as many mainstream beers such as RedHook, Leinie's, and Sierra Nevada. There are a few aisles of beer and a cooler. Inside the cooler area, there are 8 taps with mostly local beers. This is an excellent addition since most local TN beers are available only on draft. The store will also let you build your own 6 pack of singles or will suggest a 6 pack of singles from local or seasonal beers. Update 5/2020 (store no longer allows freely picking singles, but limits to about 40 selections). The service is very nice, but not always the most knowledgeable.

I try to stop by when I am in Nashville, but have to remind myself that they are closed on Sundays. I usually pick up the latest seasonal releases from Blackstone or Yazoo and look for anything that I cannot normally get such as Green Man or Schlafly.

This place is absolutely huge but the beer section is just a small corner. It is a little difficult to judge the selection because TN distribution is very thin compared to states I am used to visiting. That said, the selection was pretty good, consisting of the expected southern locals like Sweetwater & Terrapin, locals like Yazoo and the likes of Stone, SN, Laughing Dog, Schlafly, etc.

Prices were good. Service was friendly although not as knowledgeable as I have come to expect at bottle shops.

Rather impressed on my visit when through town on business. Much larger selection here than what is available in Memphis. On liqour store side had some singles and six packs (with no build a six packs of the 12 oz sizes). Had a number of gift sets although it is that time of year. Beer and cigar store side was really good, had good prices on Sam Smith's and the singles although some individual brands might not be priced the best. Beer store side offers build a six packs although they are priced higher as singles. It's been a while since I visited J. Barleycorn's so I can't do a straight comparison but it is also at least somewhat comparable to this store.

This is my "go-to" shop when I stay near downtown Nashville on business. Crazy TN laws require the dual store set up of the higher abv beers from the lower one. Overall, an excellent selection of beers distributed in TN.

I've had some good service from the staff in nearly every visit. Prices are decent, but my only complaint is that they do not offer case pricing, but just simply add up the 6 or 4-pack pricing to get the case price.

Slightly limited selection of imports, but at least they have many of the standard ones. Overall, one of the best shops I've found in Nashville.

Surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet. Firstly, it is the best place in Nashville to buy beer. The low abv side lets you mix six packs and they now have some growler fills. The selections is pretty heavy on both sides. The liquor store side is nice, bright and clean. The only hassle is trying to get into looking at the shelf of Belgians. And they finally blocked their beer from the sunlight. I nearly always get approached by some of the beer loving employees which is nice. The prices are reasonable. Sometimes there are freshness issues. Stone seems to always be in check but Victory really suffers.

Oddly this place is separated into two stores right next to each other. One side sells liquor and high gravity beers and the other sells the other beer. The beer store will let you take any bottles out of any sixer and mix and match your own. The prices are reasonable and selection great. The high gravity beer side has a good selection to and the prices didn't seem to be higher than normal. I really wished you could mix and match six packs in that store though because I could have afforded to try many more beers. All and all if I were in Nashville again this would be the place I would go to get beer to bring home.

Stopped by Midtown while in Nashville for work. Nice selection of lower ABV beers on one side, and bigger beers in with the wine. Pretty good selection of beer here, lots of American Craft brews and Belgians too. The prices might have been a little on the high side from what I'm used to in Washington DC, but they weren't outlandish. Maybe a dollar more per 750ml. The service was great, and the guy I talked to seemed very knowledgeable about the beers they had there. Highly recommended if you're in the Nashville area.
