Appearance: Standard golden pilsener with decent foam and ok carbonation.

Smell: Nice sweet floral notes, and that's about it. Not terribly hoppy overal.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Nice floral hoppy notes with caramel malt background. Nice balance, but gets a bit flat.

Overall Drinkability: Nice subtlety for a pilsener. Probably one of the better American pilsener's that doesn't overwhelm with hops.

12oz can poured to weizen glass

Pours crystal clear golden, thin finger of white head settles quickly to an active film.

Aroma is pretty complex, some nice floral hops, toffee, warm bread and oranges.

Taste is overly sweet to me, a nice malty breadiness, no noticeable bitterness and not much CO2 bite.

Mouthfeel is a bit heavy for the style. Doesn't strike me as refreshing.

Lagers generally aren't my thing, but when the temps hit triple digits I'll give 'em a try. Overall fine brew, and undoubtedly a good gateway to wean mainstreamers off corporate beer, but not hitting my pils sweet spot. Not refreshing enough to call it a good lawnmower beer, and lacking the mounds of crisp white head evident in euro pils. But it looks good and smells good... I'd like it better if the flavor followed the nose a little more closely and it had a bit more carbonation..

Poured a rich, clear golden color with a thin white head that receded to a thin cap of white with abundant carbonation bubbles visible. Quite nice and very true to style. Scents sweet malt and grain with slight lager yeast aromas and a very faint trace of hops. Not a horrible aroma, but lacking in character. Flavor begins with sweet malt, which sustains throughout and a very faint hint of hops. Middle adds more grain to the flavor profile and the hops become a little more noticeable, though still faint for the style. The finish is sweet malt, grainy malt and a low level of floral hop flavors that is now more in line with a low level hopped example of the style. Aftertaste is grainy malt and low levels of floral hop flavors. Not a bad flavor profile, simple, crisp and refreshing, though too low in hop character for a pilsner. Mouthfeel is light bodied with low carbonation and a smooth, almost creamy feel. Not crisp like a pilsner, and a bit under carbonated for a lager. Not unpleasant, but not to style. Overall this is a decent lager that is good for a warm Arizona summer's day or night. The flavor is nice enough and the mouthfeel makes it easy to drink. The aroma is a bit too mild however and it doesn't fit into the pilsner category very well. It's alright.

Bottle marked 07/01/14 at 45 degrees into standard pint
Slight aroma of flowery hops and caramel(?)
Head small (2 cm), white, dense and creamy, quickly diminishing to a 1.5 mm layer
Lacing forming complete rings of small bubbles, sometimes connected vertically
Body is light amber and hazy
Flavor is very malt forward with a distinct diacetyl presence; no hops, no alcohol.
Palate is medium, watery, and has lively carbonation.

A surprisingly good take on a pilsner, very flavorable despite lacking the crisp freshness of the typical pilsner. I guess if you can call it an American whatever, then all standard style bets are off.

Warm days are here again. Time for a pilsner beer. On to the beer:

This is a yellow-orange colored beer with a little haze in its body. Topping it is a thin head with retains just a thin lace of itself, leaving spots around the glass. It smells like raw grass, husky grain, a note of ethanol. Could be confused for something coming out of a big brewery.

I can't say that I'm excited. This American Pilsner tastes almost like an ale to me. Not even the mouthfeel (medium, slick) is to style. It's not clean and crisp per style, having a vague diacetyl layer, mild Saaz hoppiness, bland cereal grain base. It doesn't taste horribly offensive though, which keeps this beer going into my mouth and not my sink.

I hope beer drinkers don't look at this beer the same way that they do the Grand Canyon. I'd rather have an Original Coors.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Coronado Brewing Company pint glass. A bit cloudy, yellow gold ish color. Smell was definitely grainy, corn and some sweetness as well Taste about the same as smell except there is some sweetness that is a bit weird. Overall it's not a terrible beer but it's not something I would seek out. Better than the macrobrews but that's about it.

Poured from can into glass.

Golden yellow color, quickly dissipating head and minimal lacing. Doesn't appear to be a lot of carbonation present.

Light smell of noble hop spice, grain and corn-like sweet undertones.

Very lightly carbonated, under-carbonated even. Creamy, but needs more bubbles.

Sweet palate, very little hop bitterness comes through. Slight diacetyl butter flavor.

Overall: it's decently drinkable, but not really a pilsner, American or otherwise.

Golden color poured into the tall narrow Belgian glass. Average head and overall it's attractive enough. The usual spritzy carbonation, though nothing to jack up the refreshment quotient. Smells faintly beery, but that's about as good as it gets. This seems like more of a Blonde, but it's almost entirely unlike a Pilsener.

There is just a hint of cracker flavor. This seems clean and well made, and I suppose the fuller body and the hint of flavors distinguish it from mass manufactured lagers. Maybe this is a style that works for their market, but seems hardly worth the bother with so many actually taster light lagers around. From the 12 oz bottle bought at AJ's Fine Foods in Phoenix.

12 oz. purchased near brewery with a Sept. 2013 date stamp.

A: Clear; golden yellow color. The white head faded fairly quickly to a ring and partial coat. Barely visible, fine-grained carbonation.

S: Saaz hops and malt, without much strength..

T: A fairly balanced mix of hops and malts, although the hops dominate by the finish. A bit mild and under hopped for style.

M: Light and watery body; very soft carbonation for style.

Overall: a mediocre pilsner.

Small to maybe medium white head settles into a nice lacing above a clear rich straw golden colored beer.

Light aroma of grasses, light grains, a little bit of hops, and it's just slightly floral.

A slight hops bite in the taste that goes along with some lesser grains maybe grasses in here that I taste.

A light dry aftertaste with a very slight hops taste lingering around with this light bodied beer.

This beer might do the trick on a really hot summers day or night and since it's from Arizona I guess their playing to the right audience, or hopefully so.
