This is certainly one to try. The appearance is indicative of the style, amber with mild carbonation, and a thick white head. The aroma is a fusion of malts. This leaves a strong stream of lacing on the glass as this is consumed. The taste is somewhat mild when compared to the aroma, but good nonetheless.

Appearance - This beer is a gorgeous reddish-brown in color with an awesome, full, brownish-white head that left nice clumps of foam on top of the liquid.

Smell - The darkish, caramel malts come out big at the nose and have some light toasty notes. The hops are AWOL in this malt monster.

Taste - The burnt caramel comes out nicely on the tongue and the raw sugar is very light, not cloying.

Mouthfeel - This is a solid medium-bodied if not bigger with a smooth texture and no bitterness.

Drinkability - This is a biq but quaffable beer that lacks balance but tastes great.

Pours a clear amber caramel color with a small light tan head that quickly settles into a pretty decent lacing.

Sweet roasted-toasted caramel grain malts that is very noticeable and pleasant.

Lightly roasted caramel grain malts dominate a sweetish light amber beer taste.

A light toasted caramel malt aftertaste that has a light sweetness to it on this medium bodied beer.

A decent lighter amber ale that is more my style amber with the totally overbearing caramel malt taste yet it has a very drinkable and present taste.

Picked up a 6-pack at AJ's to split. This amber is malty and hoppy, but too sweet. Sweet and biting hops does not feel pleasant. The barley has a nutty caramel character and the hops are lemony and a little grassy, like Cascade hops. But the body is too thick and cloying. I like that there's a pleasant hop flavor, but I'll pass. No thanks.

I had one of these at Phantom Ranch, at the bottom of the Colorado River, halfway through a backpack to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back to the top. At that place, in those circumstances, this is a great beer. What can be more fun than drinking a cold cold ale, labelled "Grand Canyon", while you're down in the Grand Canyon?

But you're probably not going to be there, so if you're up in civilization, GC's Sunset Amber Ale is a good beer, not a great one. It's a very middle of the road amber, on the lighter side, with decent flavor, but nothing remarkable. If you can, take the overnight to Phantom Ranch!

12 Fl Oz bottle poured into a plastic cup, it is 10.30 on Sunday Morning (Mothers Day) on the Grand Canyon Railway (Williams to the South Rim).

The beer was a deep dark amber, clear and clean looking. The head was a light tan colour, deep and steady throughout the tasting.

The smell and taste were very simular, malty, sweet and with hints of caramel. The beer wasn't over sweet, but it wasn't a hop heavy beer in any form.

I thought it a bit thin, but more than drinkable.

Pours a clear ruby copper color with a tan head. Head falls to just about nothing. Thinnest of lace.

Nice caramel malt aroma. Smells a bit sweet.

Same taste. Sweet caramel malts. Hops come through in the end with a slight bitterness. Bit of a metallic finish.

Medium bodied and biting on the tongue.

Decent enough. Not crazy about the aftertaste.

Had a cpl on tap in Payson, AZ during a daytrip, paired with jalapeno peppers and prime rib.

A - On the lighter side of craft beers, even for an amber. Garnet reddish body with a watery ring of bubbles that dissipates away to nothing.

S - Nothing stands out really, theres some hops there and some nutty smells but it all washes together, no prominence at all.

T - Surprisingly nice. Lacks any real showcase but its mildness lends itself to pairing with foods well and theres just enough of a nice mix of piney/nutty so you dont get bored.

M - A bit on the watery side, but nothing offensive about it and it doesnt wear you out.

O - Love have alot of these on hand next time I'm hanging around the campground in warm weather.

Appearance: dark amber in color with a 1/2" head that falls quickly. No lace develops.

Smell: mainly caramel sweetness with a hint of ripe fruits in the background.

Taste: nice caramel profile with some red apples and red grape sweetness. Bitterness is moderate and nicely balancing.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Smooth from from start to finish. Very brief aftertaste.

Drinkability: easy to drink this beer. This is one you can have all afternoon long.
