Style | ABV
American Pale Ale (APA) |  5.20% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
Snake River Pale is an American pale brewed with domestic malt and plenty of Cascade hops. Golden in color, it has a citrusy hop flavor which is followed by a crisp, firmly bitter finish. Pale ale is a great foil to spicy ethnic foods and can also complement a salad well.

Hazy orange color with a thin thick head with low retention and leaving some laces.
Nice aroma of fresh oranges, honey and biscuit malt.
Taste follows nose, crisp citric flavor with notes of predominant fresh oranges, later grapefruit, just a bit of pine and caramel. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body with perfect carbonation.
Straight forward APA, but extremely refreshing and easy to drink. Great if you want to session with an APA with less pine and more citrusy. I could drink this the whole day.

Served from a 12oz brown bottle at The Granary (Jackson Hole, WY). Reviewed from notes.

A: Dusky amber with a hint of sunlight yellow poking through with a 1/2-finger frothy small bubbled off-white head with decent retention and a thin line of lacing.

S: Light caramel malt is dominated by grapefruit, pine, and citrus hops

T: Solid APA flavor, not flashy, but it gets the job done and matched well with my underwhelming pasta primavera-like entree. The malt component is more than adequate with a solid caramel and bready/light toast combination. Hops are ahead, but the beer is balanced. Grapefruit, pine resin, and orange are the chief flavors with a little bit of grassiness/herbal character. A good hosp complexity overall. No yeast component detectable and the bitterness is a touch under moderate.

M: Good dryness with a light-medium body and even carbonation. Very drinkable.

O: Another very god effort from Snake River Brewing. I have tried 3 beers this trip and all have been very good, spanning from hoppy (SR APA and Pako's IPA) to bready (SR Lager). Check these guys out if you are in Jackson Hole or the surrounding area.

Into a pint glass:

A: mostly clear golden yellow colored body with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dies within twenty seconds, some light clingy spotty foamy lacing graces the sides of the pint glass

S: light amount of citrus/orange coming forth in the hops, and another light amount of pine coming through, ever so slight amount of malts

T: mainly bittersweet and smooth, no aftertaste, dry finish

M: light, sessionable, slightly sharp carbonation but still good for the style and leads to a good smooth feel coming all around

O: I would say this is pretty good for the style and very good to me, I would definitely have this again
