Overall, I found this place to be an enjoyable beer and food experience. A little too stoner-ish for me, but I'd be happy to check it out again (especially in another city) if I had few options to choose from.
Quality, service, and selection were very good. The mushroom soup is delicious.
Decent size draft menu (~40) and bottled beer selection (~60-75) was pretty good. Not a lot of local stuff, wish they had more. Most of the draft or bottle selections were average to top-notch micro-brewed beers I can get from just about anywhere. A little more variety wouldn't hurt, especially of the local variety.

We decided to try this place out while visiting Myrtle Beach for a few days with the family. To be honest, I have been meaning to stop by the Mellow Mushroom in Charlotte for quite some time but have never gotten around to it, so when we saw this one located across from Broadway at the Beach we decided not to put it off any longer.
The place is fairly open with a regular seating area to the left and a bar area to the right, and a fairly large outdoor seating area. The kitchen area is clearly visible from nearly any seat in the restaurant, and the walls are all lined with TVs. Very laid back and comfortable environment.
The service was so-so; our server was friendly, and fairly knowledgeable about the beer selection. Unfortunately, he seemed to be missing in action much of the time. Our glasses sat empty for long periods of time, and when he did go to get us another beer he was gone seemingly forever, at one point we thought that maybe his shift had ended and we had been forgotten...
The food was pretty good, better than most chain pizza restaurants. We got the house special and were very happy with it. The beer menu is pretty good, about the best in Myrtle Beach from what I have heard. There are about 35-40 taps, and most are fairly solid offerings, we both had the New South IPA and were not disappointed. The bottle list is comprised of about 50-60 fairly solid craft offerings, nothing too wild, but not totally boring either.
Overall, it was a good place to go for a beer and a pizza. I think I will make some time to stop by the one in Charlotte now

Atmosphere: Great atmosphere--laid back, mellow, and very enjoyable. Not too noisy, though not quiet either, just a subdued dull murmur from the surrounding crowd.
Quality: Excellent quality--a lot of really nice microbrews from around the country, including seasonals. Nothing too luxury but definitely a nice quality of good beer.
Service: Excellent service--our server gave us a warning before happy hour ended, and even offered to give us happy hour pricing 5 minutes afterward. Service was prompt and accommodating all night.
Selection: Nice selection of beers--not a HUGE variety of beer, but still a very nice selection that can stand on its own.
Food: Pizza was excellent. Have not had many pizzas better ever.
Value: $3 pints at happy hour (4-7 every day, weekends included). Also ran a $2 yuengling special all night. Food was a bit on the higher side or reasonable, but beer was about average if not on happy hour special.

Went there last week with my wife and son in Myrtle Beach. I wanted to go for the obvious reasons - extensive beer list, and my wife was in the mood for pizza, so this place was perfect.
They had a really nice selection of craft beers - definitely the best in Myrtle Beach. Most places had your standard MCB along with Yuengling, but this place had a ton. I would say about 40 or so on tap, along with at least that many in bottle. They had DFH, Stone, Rogue, Bear Republic, Bell's, Victory, along with some local stuff like New South (Myrtle) and RJ Rockers (Spartanburg).
I tried two that I can't get back home - the New South IPA (on nitro tap) and Victory Hop Devil. Both were decent, but I definitely preferred the Hop Devil over the New South.
Our server was very knowledgeable about the beer list and offered suggestions based on beer type. He also provided nice service on the food end as well!
We had an awesome Mauiwaui pizza that was unique to this MM location and it was very good. Lots of ingredients. Also a really good side salad to start.
We really enjoyed it and will be visiting again when we return to Myrtle. We don't have these in STL, so it was nice to finally visit one.

This is the best place for taps I've found in the Myrtle Beach area. There are around 40 taps, plus other selections in bottles. There are offerings from Bear Republic, Bells, Allagash, Stone and the like, along with some more local breweries including RJ Rockers and New South. Last time I went they had Racer X, so they are able to get some reasonably hand to get beers. The beer selection varies among the restaurants in this chain, and this is probably the best of the few I've visited. The food is standard for the chain, which is to say it's pretty good. There is a separate bar area and some outdoor seating, and the restaurant is family friendly.

The beer selection here did not disappoint. So much so that we had to go twice already in our week long vacation. We really enjoy IPA's and there were some excellent choices from Rouge, Bear Republic, Stone, and Bells (from Michigan). Also, Dales Pale Ale and Rouges Northwestern. Too many selections to list, but those are the ones we had on tap. We rarely get a chance to have these beers on tap at home, so we were in heaven. Loved the Bells Two Hearted, not available at home, wish it was.
On the way there, I said I had no interest in having pizza, but once there we ordered a caesar salad pizza, and it was above delicious. $12 for a ten inch pizza, but I would order it again tomorrow.
On the service end, I would call it lukewarm at best. When we asked about some of the selections we got a "its good" and "hoppy". Mind you the service was not bad, just not overly friendly and, who cares anyway, we came for the good beer, and thats what we got.

I agree with former posters, best beer selection on tap or in bottle on the Strand. Nice bar area, featuring an L shaped bar where along one entire length are 30? taps or so built in to the wall. Love that vs. the usual taps in your face along the bar; very attractive, and it makes it easy to look at them all deciding what to order next. The are then maybe 10 tables in the bar as well. and some booths. Many TV's, usually showing sports (wait, since when is Poker a sport?).
Service was friendly, and the beer knowledge seemed fair to good. Selection was good not great, but great for thie area. I had Bell's Two Hearted Ale, Allagash Tripel, Foot Hills Hoppymus, Arrogant Bastard on my two visits. Others had Abita Purple Haze, Franziskaner Hefe, Chimay Red. Many more in bottle and on tap.
Food is only pizza, calzones, sandwiches and salads, but for what it is, the food is very good.
Definitely a keeper. Wish they would come to Massachusetts :)

Simply the best place in MB for draft beer. Very close to Broadway at the Beach, so drop off the wife and kids and head across the street.
41 taps. New Belgium, Highlands, DFH, Magic Hat, Victory, Bear Republic, Stone all well represented. New South IPA on nitro. Even a Foothills tap.
Service can be spotty. As in most places, depends on who's working.
Food is as expected from a MM.
The jewel of the trip was a SN 30th Charlie Fred and Ken. Got the last one before the keg blew!
Well worth a stop.

Well what can i say its Mellow Mushroom great food, great beer selection. We love Mellow Mushroom hit it up whenever we are near one. Food was good like usual, the service was actually good at this location which is a change from what I am use to. Now the important part the beers, great selection good quality with fair prices. Found out Monday is start of new beer week, they tap a new brew every Monday for the week or until its gone i guess. Lucky me this week its Avery's Maharaja, an excellent I2PA. The Maharaja is making me want to spend my whole vacation at Mellow Mushroom. If your in Myrtle Beach you have to stop buy.
