Bir & Fud is a great place to visit, but I’m not going to spend my entire evening there. The pizza is really great. The beer is definitely good, and they have some very special things in the cellar if you ask. Bir & Fud is first and foremost a restaurant, and it’s packed with people who know nothing about beer and fast moving waiters who don’t want to take much time to engage with the customers. We had an ordering mishap, and the waiter delivered two of the same exact pizza when we just ordered one. I don’t think we explained that we were sharing very well, and it was more annoying than anything. You definitely should visit here because the pizza is delicious and the beer is good. You can eat dinner here and then you can walk across the street to ma che siete venuti a fà. (791 characters)

Absolutly loved this place.
Down toward the edge of the river, not far from Haydrian's Tomb, lies this little pub/eatery. Seems to be a rather busy place. Good atmosphere with three options for seating: at the bar, outside, or in the back.
Plenty of beers on tap that rotate out daily it seems. Lots of Italian craft with the odd German, American, or English thrown in.
Had the pizza and it was delicious. Thin crust loaded with great, flavorful topings.
A wonderful experience, so good I went twice. Highly recomened. (522 characters)

Was on vacation with my wife and walked by this place. Saw all the beautiful brass taps, and got super stoked. I had no idea Italy had delicious craft beer. This place was wonderful. Had a delicious Birra del Borgo Re Ale and a Duchessa on draft then stumpled around Trastevere. Very rad! (288 characters)

I've lived in Trastevere for a month and a half, and I've been to Bir & Fud about 8 times. Never been disappointed. Great, always-changing selection of beers (including a lot of Italian brews), and fantastic pizza and other food. Outside seating, indoor room in the back, and a long ass bar with taps all the way down the line. Bartenders know what they're talking about when it comes to the beer. Right across from Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa, which has the same owners. Must stop place in Trastevere, if not all of Rome, if you are a beer fan. (542 characters)

This is a great beer place in Rome serving a wide selection of beers from many countries on tap. They have many beers on tap at any given time, a great selection of Italian craft beers in a huge range, plus many Belgian beers, some German, British, and American beers of various types. Overall, the beer quality seems excellent.

They have some great beer-friendly food, including Italian fare such as arancina (fried rice croquettes) in various flavours, plus takes on Anglo-American food such as fried potatoes with their home-made ketchup, etc. The food we had was all excellent.

The place is stylish and nice inside with a long bar facing the long bank of beer taps and some nice seating outside on the pleasant and quiet little piazza which the place is on. However, the place could get easily cramped and loud inside due to the long narrow bar area and the patio outside, though pleasant, is small and cramped so can get easily overloaded.

Service is good overall, but seems a but uneven. We had great trouble getting the bartender at the bar to pay attention to us even though there were few people in at the time but once we decided that we would prefer to sit down outside service was good.

I highly recommend this as a top beer place to visit when in Rome. (1,269 characters)

I love Bir & Fud, not as much as I love Ma Che (the bar across the street), but there's still some great love there. There's always a good number of beers on tap, along with bottled beers to buy inside. The staff are friendly about letting you sample what they have, and once you sit down with your beer, they automatically bring you a bowl of the most incredible house-made potato chips in the world (for free)! I love that they seem to switch staff with Ma Che, or they just all hang out. Basically, the best nights I've spent in Rome have been in the alleyway between these two bars. Great vibes. Do not miss this area of town if you go to Rome. (648 characters)

A good beer store that manages to present interesting Italian food and beer in an enjoyable way. It's Trastavere, so they're busy, but still a long list of beers and a short menu of good food to soak it up with. I enjoyed the home-made chips (crisps) and tried several beers while there. If you're a beer geek looking for an Italian experience, I recommend it highly. (367 characters)

A must-visit if in Rome but only open in the evenings, unfortunately.

Draft list is entirely Italian but consisted of a good variety of breweries and styles. The bottles were largely Italian as well. Biggest complaint is that it would have been nice to see a few non-Italian beers on tap given the large number of taps (20?).

Service was excellent, especially considering the general slowness of restaurant service in Italy.

The food was outstanding. 3 or 4 of the dishes that our group ordered were all raved about. I had a pizza that was excellent. (556 characters)

I was in Rome on business and luckily had a free night to check out a few places. I was suggested Bir e Fud and its sister bar across the street by some new friends at Moeder Lambic, and I was impressed with the selection and prices (especially given the usual price of Italian micros). The highlight was a perfectly served glass of Bran from Montegioco. I did not get much of a chance to talk with the staff as they seemed quite busy, but I would certainly return in the future to try out more great beers... (509 characters)

First time in Rome, and Bir & Fud was #1 on my list to go to.
I wasnt disappointed! Walked in right before the busy part of the night and hung out at the front bar. Staff all spoke english well, (especially good since my italian was bad) and the place felt like my favorite pub at home. the beer selection was incredible.
Personally I didnt know much about the italian microbrew scene, but after a couple of hours and alot of great examples, it looks like Italy is experiencing what the US did in the 90's.
Lots of enthusiasm and great brews were good, but the service was excellent.
In fact, I liked the local brewers so much, I made space in the suitcase and brought home 8 bombers to share with friends and brewing contacts.
Had so much fun, we almost closed the place down, then we went over their sister place an got blown away by the bottle selection!
Make this the #1 stop when in Rome, you wont be disappointed, and make sure to sit down and enjoy all that Rome has to offer! (986 characters)

Came here on a recommendation from the guys at Domus Birrae. Located in the Trastevere neighborhood, Bir&Fud was our last meal in Italy (after 3 weeks) and it did not disappoint. The three of us got here early, 7:30pm on Sunday and were seated immediately but the place filled up quickly. Reserve if going after 8pm. The bar is busy but they do a good job serving.

Bir: The waiter asks what you like "sweet, bitter..." and bases his recommendations on your taste preferences. Great for noobs and those unfamiliar with Italian offerings. We tried a chestnut ale, spelt ale, and American stlye IPA and a Saison. Winners all.

Fud: We started with an appetizer that consisted of three Roman offerings, amazing sauces and fried happiness. The pizza was the best I had in Italy. Thin crust, fresh and flavorful ingredients and some many choices of toppings.

Prices are very reasonable. This place is a must for beer and/or pizza lovers. (935 characters)
