What can I say? This is in my top 3 for local eatery/taphouse. No frozen food here. Love the menu and their specials are usually on point. Beer selection is ever changing, and it seems to me that they do their best to bring in any whales that can in fact be reeled in. My wife and I have been frequenting this local gem since they opened, and it will remain one of our go-to places for many years to come. Outdoor patio, live music...what is not to like? Parking can be treacherous depending on what night you go, tho it seems to me that they are packing it in most days.

Lures is a fantastic combo of good food and outstanding beers. Their beer selection has recently doubled with the addition of a front bar. The front bar appears to have 15 taps, the back bar has 14. As noted below, the owners/managers must be hopheads, becauses IPAs and DIPAs are always very well represented (if anything, overrepresented!). The website currently lists 29 draft offerings, of which 4 are IPAs and 3 are DIPAs. This is fine by me - I'm a hophead. But the full story is that this place just really gets into hops, offering highly hopped version of other styles, and generally not shying away fromadventurous, *strong*, and high-ABV brews. The addition of the new front bar will definitely allow Lures to offer more balance - more saisons, session beers, and other goodies.

But Lures' food is fine as well. My wife loves the burgers, says they are cooked just right and reliably good. Alas, there are only 3 veggie entries. They're all good, but I would like more choices... or perhaps I'll have to find the most sustainable of the seafood offerings and deal with that. Also note that Lures produces and serves authentic and delicious Smith Island Cake (the Maryland State Cake!). You don't find this everywhere - it's a special touch.

Servers here are reliably knowledgeable about the beers, and I rarely had less-than-great service. The front bar adds capacity and atmosphere for happy hour, lots of good space for drinking and socializing. I'm especially fond of the patio for outdoor drinking/dining opportunities.

With the fine selection of beers to try *and* the good food *and* the highly tempting dessert *and* the good service deserving of a decent tip, it can be hard to get out of Lures without a sizeable bill. I've often paid $35+/person all inclusive. But hey, that's the cost of a great place to eat and enjoy, & it's moderate compared to lots of "fancy" places. Considering the value, this place is not out of line.

So take note - this is a real beer-lover's bar, and **Highly Recommended** for that.

The Annapolis area is starved for places willing to go out on a limb and sell something other than Bud, Miller, Coors. Typically you can find Loose Cannon and Fat Tire on tap at most watering holes/restaurants and they feel that fulfills their obligation to craft beer. Lure's is by far the most creative and forward thinking restaurant in the area when it comes to craft beer. I've been able to sample Enjoy By, Nugget Nectar, Espresso Yeti, Pumpking, etc.... some very tasty brews. Happy hour is great, the best deal when not HH is the sampler for $8 which is pretty good for 20 ounces of great craft beer. I think the owner is clearly a hophead as there are always several IPA, Double IPA, Imperial IPA's on tap. As a hophead myself I do love this, but I would like to see a little more variety. I think I'll be getting my wish as they are expanding and will have a lot more beers on tap, that's great news for those of us in this area. I just wish this would rub off on some of the other establishments in the area. We are a wasteland between DC and Baltimore, two great beer cities.
