The beer pours a slightly off white and foamy head. The beer is a hazy amber color that is a little bit copper and leans towards the red side. The beer smell is a yeasty and caramel malty smell with a bit of alcohol on the nose. The hops are a slight note but still make an appearance. The beer has a much stronger hop presence than in the smell. The hop taste is balanced by the malt taste. Similar to the smell, the malts primarily consist of a sweet and light caramel taste. Additionally, the beer has a slight mineral taste as well as a bit of alcohol. The feel is crisp and lean with biting carbonation. A pretty good lager and shocking that this came from a MillerCoors subsidiary.

Pours a hazy amber gold color with a massive 2 finger foamy beige head that was full of little bubbles and faded slowly, with craters forming in the top of the head, leaving good foamy lacing and rings as it went down.

Smells of sweet malt, caramel, floral hops, lemon zest, tangerine, grains, wheat bread and yeast; surprisingly potent malty goodness in this nose that was a lot more than most lagers put out with a very sweet overall nose.

Tastes like the nose, but the sweetness is more malt and brown sugar with the hops adding light spices and balance; flavor is a combo of sweet malt, caramel, floral hops, lemon zest, piney hops, grains, wheat bread, toffee, mild spices like coriander and cinnamon, biscuit, nut and yeast; a lot more complex tasting than I had anticipated and while basically a malty beer with hoppy accents, it worked for me and was tasty and enjoyable. Very basic in it’s finished product, but the flavors that show up throughout are well defined and work well with the others.

Mouthfeel is light and watery with low carbonation, a light to medium body and dry bready finish that has a slight hop bitterness combined with a grainy sweet aftertaste.

Overall this was a nice middle of the road beer that shocked the hell out of me since the macro owned stigma can give misconceptions and decreased interest, but my friend Vinny insisted I try it as he had 2 cases brought to NY so I thank him again for sharing a few with me. A definite session beer that goes down smooth and easy, glad these escaped Colorado and made it to NY as they were easy to put down and enjoy.

Medium sized off white head quickly settles into a nice lasting lacing above a super clear copper colored beer.

Medium roasted caramel malt aroma with a touch of light hops on a lighter aroma.

Caramel malts that have a well roasted malt quality to them give this lager its warm malty taste.

A light dryish aftertaste with a bit of the caramel malt tastes remaining on this medium bodied beer.

A pretty decent tasting amber, drinks pretty easily.

From a 355 ml bottle (best by November 11, 2013) into a nonic glass.

A-An aggressive pour produces about one and one-half fingers of light khaki head. The retention is decent for a lager with a thick cap lingering for more than two minutes. The beer is pretty clear and medium amber in color.

S-The smell provides a nice balance between fruity (orange, maybe?) and lightly caramelized malt aromas and a drying, biscuity bitterness. The strength of the aroma is impressive for the style.

T-The taste provides a sharper, dryer, more hop forward experience that many beers of this style, but it works well here. I even detect some rye-like spice on the drying finish. That being said, there is still a nice caramel, fruity malt base.

M-The feel is medium to full body with lower carbonation levels. It is not heavy, but it provides some substance on the palate.

O-I tried this beer a few years ago when it first arrived and was less than enthused, but this second look was positive. The flavors are good and there is a great balance between malt and hop with a nice bite for the style. Setting aside the craft v. crafty issue here, I will drink this beer again.

Crystal-clear copper body with a very good, long lasting head. Rather faint aroma comprised of light biscuit scent and a wisp of hops. Toasted bread flavors with an evenly balanced light hop bitterness throughout. Crisp, clean, dry mouthfeel with a lively carbonation tickling the tongue.

Overall, a pretty decent, clean and easy drinking amber lager. Malt forward with a very refreshing lager smoothness with a dab of hop bitterness to nicely balance everything out.
