Yet another worthy spot in Kansas City for BA worthy beer and decent if not amazing food. We went twice, had assorted fish Tacos each time, enjoyed fresh tasting quality local beer and in general had a good time. Our group of 9 the second time experienced some slow service. Large outdoor space, retro inside with ample tubes to enjoy the game or whatever was on ESPN. Large variety of quality beer offering both on tap and in bottles. Casual, relaxed and decent place for a pint or two, a meal or with a group. Worth a visit.

I met another BA down in Westport to give the newest Kansas City beer bar a whirl. This place is located right behind McCoys (and is owned by the same people) and not marked very well. As you walk up, they have a big open patio that you walk through to go inside. When you walk in there is a large bar directly in front of you with about 20 seats and more seating off to your right. I moseyed up to the bar and was quickly served by Ethan (the only male bartender their). The atmosphere is hip/funky and goes along with the whole alternative Westport vibe. They had about 20 or so taps, 60 bottles and a beer engine. I was informed that they had just finished the cask and wouldn't be putting another on until later. Their beer selection was pretty good and definitely the best in the Westport area. Some of the highlights were Golden Carolus, Houblon Chouffe, and Delirium Tremens. The only downside was that they had most of McCoys beers filling up the tap handles. The food was pretty tasty. We split a couple appetizers and they were all excellent. Overall this is a welcomed addition to a ever growing KC beer scene. With a little time, this could grow into one of the better beer bars in the town and will definitely be my go to bar whenever I'm in Westport.
