This is easily my favorite lager in the world. I absolutely love the light refreshing taste. This is the perfect beer for a hot summer day. The color is clear and light, and the taste is slightly sweet. I really wish this beer were available outside of Germany. If I had to pick only one beer to drink for the rest of my life, this would be it.

I’ve had many German beers, Bavarian, Koelsch, Alt, Pilsner, Helles, Kristalweizen, there probably isn’t a type of German beer I haven’t sampled.

Uerige, Augustiner Edelstoff are two of my favourite beers, Tegernseer Helles is with or above these as a whole.

Smooth crisp Helles beer, great light flavour, no overwhelming feeling after a few. A chill beer to enjoyed very cold, and to have a copious supply of in the Keller!

Really good German beer, probably one of he best beer ever. Taste is pretty clean: bread and sweet cake mixture malt - only a touch of herb which is hard to detect. The smells sweet malty, fresh, crispy. Good for a big night with friends! I also tried on tap and is even better...

Tegernsee Hell
Pours a very clean almost completly clear light color of golden brown. This is one of the lightest examples of a Helles Ive come across. Produces a nice frothy head, light lacing.
Light grassy maltines, a bitterness form the minreally content, light floral hoppiness, a freshly cut haylike smell, finishes with a light peppery bite that makes for quite a full smelling beer for something so light looking in the initial impression.
Flavor is upfront light, clean, well carbonated and well hopped-exactly what I look for in a Helles. Light grassy maltiness upfront, bitterness, finishing with a light lingering bready malt flavor flecked with a light pepperyness. The light biscuity malt flavor becomes more apparent after subsequent sips. The sweetness is well restrained, something I find really gets in the way of the flavor of most Helles. This beer exibits a great balance of lemony citrus, biscuity malt, peppery yeast, and just the right amount of restraint with the hops.
Drinkability is really good with this brew. It is a cold November night now, however the citrus notes paired with the peppery spiciness really make this a year round "first beer" of the night. It really opens the palate well and is very refreshing. Serve like an aperitif and you have a sure winner. I will buy this again, and also now am interested in their Spezial

0.5L mug served vom fass. Crystal clear light yellow. Presented with a 2" high head of fine white foam that quickly dissolves. Taste is silky slightly sweet. A wonderfully balanced basic malt and hops beer. Classic thirst quencher. Worth the trip - an impressive site surrounded by a gorgeous lake and ridiculously cute Bavarian towns and farms. They also offer a Spezial, Leicht, and Dunkel Export (naturtrub). Enjoyed with a bowl of Leberknodelsuppe (it was rainy and cold outside!)

1/2 liter bottle from my local Getrankemarkt.

Light colored lager with normal 1" head in my glass. Taste was wonderful. Very smooth, malty, and low in hops; almost buttery.

Highly recommended Helles Lager!

If you're in Germany, look for this at any good Getrankemarkt.

Tegernseer Hell pours a well perfected appearance: mounds of bright white head, and a perfectly clear golden body.

This smells very clean with lemony hops and a malty backbone is slightly detectable.

The taste is also exceptionally clean. The lemony hops are there right up front, and finishes with a mellow biscuity sweetness.

This feels pretty wet on the palate, and eventually has a dry finish.

Overall this is one of the best helles' I've had in a while. Tegernseer Hell surpasses even some of the more notorious offerings off German Helles Lagers.

This brew appears very pale to the eye and shows big bubbles of carbon dioxide steadily rising with a lot of lace left an the glass.

The smell is spicy and a little dry or biscuity, with the sweeter side of the malt also showing clearly. A few clever fruity notes (lemon, white grape) co-operate with a soft hoppy touch.

A very clean taste, with sweet malt and herbal hoppy flavours being main factors. The finish is rather dry and slightly bitter, but with enough mouth-watering sweetness remaining as well. There is a kind of 'juicyness' to the taste that gives this beer its weight and contributes positively to its mouthfeel.

A very elemental beer, very pure and enjoyable! Probably the fresher the better.

On-tap at Weisses Brauhaus and served in a 300 ml mug, on to the beer:

Now to the cleaner beer. Its color is straw yellow and topped with a rocky head which retains itself well. The usual suspects of a helles aroma (grass, lemon, hay) set the table for a good drinking experience. Arriving in the mouth in its light body and gentle carbonation are a slight citrus note with fresh hay and wild grass. Few things say "welcome to Munich" better that a fresh and appealing helles lager.
