I'm a big helles fan so can rate this in comparison to a fair few of the style. Here we go.

Poured from 500ml bottle into my Veltins mug.

A) On style, straw colour, pure white head which hangs around, lots of bubbles. Bottle features the classic blue and white chequer pattern of Bavaria.

S) This is where it stands out. Pulled straight from the fridge, crack it open and you are whacked with a huge bready malt odour.

M) On style, the big big malt flavour makes it less thirst quenching than some other Helles biers, but gives you something to chew on.

T) Follows the smell. Big hit of soft doughy malt. Like a quality German lager, you get the great taste up front, then it's gone with no after taste, forcing you into another gulp to keep you going.

O) At the opposite end of the spectrum to another fine Helles, Augustiner, this is full of fragrance and mature malty character. So good. No beer drinker in the world could drink this and not enjoy it.

I’ve had many German beers, Bavarian, Koelsch, Alt, Pilsner, Helles, Kristalweizen, there probably isn’t a type of German beer I haven’t sampled.

Uerige, Augustiner Edelstoff are two of my favourite beers, Tegernseer Helles is with or above these as a whole.

Smooth crisp Helles beer, great light flavour, no overwhelming feeling after a few. A chill beer to enjoyed very cold, and to have a copious supply of in the Keller!

Really good German beer, probably one of he best beer ever. Taste is pretty clean: bread and sweet cake mixture malt - only a touch of herb which is hard to detect. The smells sweet malty, fresh, crispy. Good for a big night with friends! I also tried on tap and is even better...
