This brew had a thick, sturdy head that lingered for quite a while, keeping me company as I sipped this hefty quad.
The nose had dark fruits and a hint of spice apparent at first.
First taste brings dark malt, heavy raisin, and date flavors to the forefront with an almost cinnamon/coriander spice in the background. The characteristic hops flavor is present, bringing it's bitterness to the table, but not overwhelmingly so.
It has a nice mouthfeel, heavy, almost syrup-like, but it flows around the mouth just fine. More spice becomes apparent, but still not overwhelming with the candied sugar providing a nice contrast.
The finish is dry and lingering, with spice and the resurgence of dark fruits on the palate again.
Overall, a very nice, dark, layered quad with a decent ABV.
