Ruby copper tinted body floating in my chalice with a big off white cream colored head chunky appearance of clouds floating in the sky. Aroma big earthy hops, citric notes with herbaceous qualities of Humboldt county recipes an provide...I know it's currently brewed and bottled in Paso Robles which is Firestone Walker country can't beat that I hope it means that this beer coming back to Ohio equates to the fact that we want to drink DBA, Union Jack, and the other standard beers that FSWBC makes. Flavor big streaks of undying hops in each sip this is IPA at the West Coast perspective and everyone that enjoys good IPA, hops are bodacious in their undertaking here with big citric, earthy notes, and floral aspects I love this IPA. I'm down for more of this kind of brewing quality control lasts the trip across the country true West Coast IPA. Mouthfeel is medium bodied IPA flowing carbonation good mix of hops and body on the palate great WCIPA, overall solid in every way I want to drink more.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer has a hazy dark orange body with a bubbly tan head that fades to a thick ring after a bit. There is a gentle carbonation of microbubbles gliding to the surface.

S- The citrus and green earthy hops have some tropical fruit notes and a watermelon hint that is interesting. As the beer opens there is some dry pale malt and caramel malt aromas underneath.

T- The sweet pale malt flavor lays a base for the soft green hops that have fruity notes and a slight watery taste when it warms.

M- The medium mouthfeel with a gentle fizz has no alcohol heat noticed.

O- This beer has a nice malt flavor with some good complex hop smells. This is a nice solid pale ale even though the hops are a bit soft in the taste. The good malt flavor makes up for that. I wouldn't call it an IPA.

A: deep reddish amber with a thin head. Delicious looking, but darker than I typically perceive with an IPA. Honestly, an absolute A+ as I see it in the snifter. After a few sips it laced exceptionally, while keeping its thin "I'm still fresh and great to sip" head.

S: Citrusy, with hints of lemon peel, grapefruit, etc. There's a great sweet maltiness in the background backing up the hops.

T: Hoppy as f*ck! delicious! way better balanced and with more pronounced flavors than I would have thought from the nose... the hop profile (Citra, basically the same as the nose) conforms well with the deep amber malt presence.

D/M: Not too thick, not too thin, just a great session-able IPA. Would definitely go for this again!

Aroma: initial aroma of fruity esters and floral/piney hops, as
the beer warms some citrus aromas like tangerines begin to come out, after swirling very faint alcohol aromas are present, as warms more the tangerine aroma is dominant, low level of caramel aroma present
10/12

Appearance: brilliant clarity, deep gold in color, roughly
13 SRM, initial tan white head that does not maintain thickness put does have a thin layer of retention, medium amount of lacing
3/3

Flavor: medium level of floral and fruity hop character, on
the aftertaste some tangerine hop flavors are present, medium high hop bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste but is not harsh but slighty astringent, low level of caramel sweeteness, medium low level of bread crust like malt flavor that is nicely balanced but does not get in the way of the hop flavor, finishes dry
15/20

Mouthfeel: medium light body with medium high carbonation, slight astringency present from the hops and no carbonic bite present, some noticeable alcohol warming
4/5

Overall impression: excellent representation of an American IPA, the hops shine in this beer but there is also a complimentary malt background that doesn't get in the way, in the aroma the hops and fruity esters meld together perfectly and give a very balanced aroma

On tap at The Waterfront, Brooklyn, New York.

Poured a medium to dark copper hue with a one and a half finger foamy white head. There was good retention and sticky lacing.

The smell featured an oily citrusy hop and an understated caramel.

The taste consisted of juicy orangy, piney and slightly herbal hop.

The mouthfeel wax typical of the style but mildly undercarbonated.

Overall a tasty and hop forward IPA.

Straight pour from 12oz bottle (pry-off) to Bruery tulip—bottling date of October 17, 2011 (at 1:55PM, if you must know) printed on the shoulder of the bottle (“10/17/11 13:55”)

Appearance (4.0): Three and a half fingers of eggnog colored head dies down in fat little bubbles to about one finger with loose, gobby spots of lacing. Body is clear and orange-honey-colored. Really pretty beer, actually.

Smell (4.0): Orange and pineapple hops mixed with a sweet floral character make for a very West Coast-style hop note in the nose; a little resinous. A lightly toasted malt body with just a little bit of a honey note make for the rest of the nose.

Taste (4.0): Great burst of citrus bitterness mixed with some dank / pine needle bitterness on the palate—very nice hop bite. There’s a long finish, with a grassy-floral bitterness that hangs around for a long time. No alcohol or yeast noticeable—standard for the style. Malt is simple and clean, just sweet enough to carry the hops and not too toasted to distract from them, either. The result is a very good West Coast hop delivery, but the malt is a bit simple.

Mouthfeel (4.0): Great, dry finish. Very dry, actually. Lighter side of medium bodied and very clean. Nice simultaneously foaming and prickly carbonation.

Overall (4.0): This is a great, albeit straightforward, West Coast style IPA. Really pulls off everything you look for in the style, even if it doesn’t add much to the category. This feels like it should be a staple in my fridge—incredibly reliable hop bomb. Very nice, and I’m impressed by my first Nectar Ales offering!

Orange-amber color that fringes the glass with long-lasting lacing.

Surprisingly hop-fragrant for a beer that is not a hop powerhouse.

With the hops not over-dominant, the malts and citrus flavors get equal billing. But the hops are definitely there with a grapefruity presence.

The mouthfeel is pleasantly slick and creamy.

This isn't Hop Stoopid and it's not an APA with too many hops; it's a gateway IPA that is a good introduction for people new to IPAs but also a welcome break even for those of us who like the hoppy brews.
