Type: 12-oz. bottle
Glass: Lagunitas mason jar
From: Albertson’s in Alpine, Calif.
Price: $1.67 ($9.99 for a mix 6-pack)
Purchased: Sept. 30, 2014
Consumed: Oct. 1, 2014
Misc.: N/A

Poured a caramel, orange, clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of khaki white head. Tons of good looking streams of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Good amount of layered foamy lacing on the sides of the glass all the way down. Great retention on the top all the way down as well. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled a pleasant whiff of hops right away. Got floral hops, Citra hops, caramel, toffee, pine, good deal of bitterness, Cascade hops and some even some roasty smokiness. Very nice on the nose. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted toffee, caramel, roasty malts, buttery notes, floral hops, Citra hops, orange rind and rye hops. Almost seems more like a strong ale than an IPA. (Taste - 3.75)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, slightly bitter finish. (Feel - 3.75)

This was a very nice IPA. Big fan here. I’d have it again for sure. (Overall - 3.88)

A: Golden copper. Darker than your run of the mill west coast ipa. Single finger head.

S: Citrus fruit and pine. Powerful punch.

T: Oh, yeah.. Maltiness holds things down for wonderful hops. Pine hits you first then immediately into a lemon citrus flavor. Pretty bitter for 60IBU but not lingering.

M: The maltiness gives a full mouthfeel, while still being clearly a westcoast ipa.

A: hazy; bronze colored; 1 finger pillowy off white head that receded slowly to a thick collar; thick lacing;

S: candied tropical fruit, especially banana and orange;

T: not quite as good as the smell, but still nice; bitter orange all the way through with a touch of pine in the background;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation;

O: very enjoyable; well balanced; nice complexity of flavors;
