Thanks Kegatron for the share. 12oz can into a snifter, the brew appears a hazy golden color with white cap that fades leaving spotty lace.

This smells herbal and nobel in character. Not too vibrant or complex really, just easily approachable. It tastes herbal, grassy and pleasantly crisp and bitter.

It is medium to light in body with modest carbonation. Not bad but lawsons certainly does better with their other offerings.

A very nice golden dark pale ale profiling the tropics meet pine profile of Amarillo hops. Not a ton of aroma however....some grassiness here and some discernible grapefruit on the nose. Same on the palate and with a solid malt profile for this low ABV. Good prickly CO2 mouthfeel. Solid overall.

16 oz. Can
PKG 06JAN21

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice slightly hazy golden yellow/orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which leaves a pretty nice medium size island, with some pretty nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, guava, mango, lemon), nice pineyness. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, guava, mango, lemon), nice pineyness. Medium body, ABV is hidden pretty nicely. Overall, a tasty brew.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.

Pours a cloudy, but not turbid yellow gold color with 2 fingers of fluffy, effervescent white head. Not a lot of retention but leaves some nice cobweb lacing. The head settles into a thin cap.

The aroma brings notes of spicy, cracked pepper, as well as plenty of fresh peaches, grapefruit, and lemon zest. There's a faint, crackery malt character in the back.

The flavor is earthy and bitter up front; lots of spicy hop notes. Then comes a solid wave of cracker malt before a fruity finish. Lots of peaches, lemon, pear, and grapefruit. Nice.

The feel is medium-light bodied with pretty good carbonation. Crisp and dry on the finish. Slight lingering bitterness.

Overall, this is a very nice session IPA. It's not quite as good as a few of the other versions but I'm still thrilled to have tried it. You can't beat the price here.

Canned 10/26/20

This is a beer I've had sitting in my fridge for quite some time, which probably wasn't ideal given it's a session IPA, but I'm sure it'll still be good a little more than 3 months from canning. Lawson's is always good stuff, so my expectations are pretty high here

Pours a cloudy gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves minimal lacing

The nose is very well rounded for a session IPA, balancing hops, malt, and spice effectively. I'm picking up on aromas of resiny hops, caramel malt, general citrus, white pepper, crackery malt

The taste is a little more hop focused than the nose led me to believe but it's still good. On the front end, I'm tasting orange, pithy grapefruit, piney hops, and a touch of caramel sweetness. The swallow brings notes of resiny hops, fresh pine, pithy grapefruit, and creamy doughy malt

A light medium body pairs with very gentle carbonation resulting in a smooth beer, though I was hoping it would be a bit more refreshing given the abv. Finishes mostly dry with assertive bitterness

Overall it's a pretty good beer, but not really something I'd turn to for a session beer. I'd love to try some other beers in this series though

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a conical pint glass; canned 10/26/20.
A: Pours a hazy, light amber color with a one to two finger, white head, rim and cap retention, and moderate rings of lacing.
S: Fruitiness then comes forth with aromas of white grapefruit, lemon, caramel, white pepper, and pine.
T: More semisweet than semidry. Palate follows nose closely but with a predominance of lemon and pepper. Bitterness solidly evident throughout.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and very, very easy drinking.
O: Super Session #2 is a light, refreshing, session AIPA. At 4.8% ABV, it is perhaps the best composed example of the session AIPA style I have had.
