2012 Vintage poured into a Lawson's Snifter 10-10-13
A- Pours a red-copper with good clarity and a very small 1/4 inch beige head. Some carb bubbles rising throughout.
S- Booze, vanilla, maple syrup, some caramel. This smells strong, although perfect for a cold fall night.
T- Oak, vanilla, bourbon, maple syrup, caramel. Absolutely delicious. Very interesting, unlike any other beer I have consumed.
M- If i didn't know this was made with maple sap, I would probably compare it to that anyway. It has an almost syrup consistency- very sweet, and a lingering hard liquor bite on the end.
O- Definitely a solid offering from a great brewer. A bit too boozy in my opinion. I was lucky enough to have an older vintage ( I want to say 09?) at three penny back in may, and it was a lot less boozy than this one. Still solid, but not as great as that one.
