Appearance: clear, orange-brown, 1/4 inch head

Smell: floral hops

Taste: floral hops

Mouthfeel: medium carbonation, very light bodied, slightly bitter overall, however there is some unlaying sweetness, smooth

Drinkability: A good but not great very floral IPA. This one was a bit unbalanced and a bit too much on the sweet side. Would not be the first IPA I would get, but it does go down fairly easily.

On tap poured into a 10oz lawsons flute.

Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a small white/light yellow head an lots of really nice light lacing. Nose is fantastic with tops of heady hops, super fresh and even better than in a bottle.

Taste is phenomenal. Only small downfall is the light graininess but it's not too bad and totally overshadowed by he huge chinooker hop punch in th palate! Less bitter than hopzilla but the lower abv makes it a bit. More drinkable and you get a bit more of the full hop character.

Received this in a recent trade with TheRowan. Great first trade man, and I hope you enjoyed the goods I sent back!

Appearance- Pours a deep amber golden with an abundance of cream colored head-at least a solid two fingers off a mild pour. Lots of carbonation beading up the sides of the glass and great retention on the head. A real looker.

Smell- Smells heavily of piney hops, resin, and grapefruit. Really hop forward with the chinook and very much on the side of pine rather than fruity I find.

Taste- More of the same. Very very hop forward with lots of pine, resin, and bitter grapefruit. Not overly fruity or floral, but a very nice hop punch. However, there is a noticeable malt backbone on this one and the hops really gets milder as the beer warms up.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability- Nice and slick with good levels of carbonation. Just a touch too malt forward for me in an american IPA, so loses just a hair on the drinkability.

Overall, an extremely solid beer. My first from the brewery and I was very happy to try it. Recommended thoroughly.

I've had this many times. A fine and somewhat unique IPA offering by Lawson's. This baby is all pine, grass, and sweet on the nose. Some grapefruit, but mostly an earthy and subdued kind of vibe to it. Bitter and refreshing taste.

A - Golden, hay colored. Thick. Nice lacing.

S - Earthy, sweet, and fresh. Lots of pine, some grapefruit.

T/M - This is a unique and well crafted IPA. It's not your fruity tropical VT offering that folks seem to love. Quite the opposite. Malty, earthy, piney, sweet but at the same time refreshingly bitter. There is a significant bitter and lasting flavor left after a swig. Chinookered is a fine example of a malty, bitter, dank IPA. There are some hints of fruit in there; just enough to round it out and give it some sweetness.

Overall - A solid 4.8 in my books. Very much worth seeking out.

Bottle shared by jophish17 - thanks!

Pours a light copper color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving solid lacing.

Smells of citrus - grapefruit and lemon peel - and herbal hops with a pale malt backbone.

Tastes similar to how it smells however the hops are a bit stronger in the taste than the smell intimated. Pale malt flavors kick things off and are joined quickly by good amounts of citrus hops with very light hints of pine. Midway through the sip the hop flavors gain a slightly leafy quality and carry through to a moderately bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is very good. It's got a very nice thickness with grainy carbonation.

Drinkability is good. I didn't have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.

Overall I thought this was a solid IPA however judging from the reviews I may have had a bottle that wasn't terribly fresh. Still, it has the makings of a good beer and I'll be interested to try others from Lawson.

Thanks to Phil for picking this one up for me. 22oz. bomber into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter. Shared with schen9303. Pours a slowly cascading 1.5 finger frothy light cream colored head with good retention. Beer is a clear dark amber. Lacing is stringy, thick, layered with good cling. Excellent looking beer.

Nose is pine, citrus, tea leaves, and a sap hop bitterness. Moderately aromatic. Nice and very clean.

Opens tea leaves, citrus, pine, grass hop bitterness. Some papaya sweetness in the middle and cane sugar malt body towards the end. Finish is citrus and resin hop bitterness with a tea leaf hop bite in the aftertaste. Deliciously drinkable.

Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Lively and quenching in the mouth and smooth going down with a mellow finish and lingering aftertaste. Very solid for the style.

Very well done up and down, Chinooker'd is a great representation of the awesome IPAs floating around Vermont. Very balanced in the nose and taste and incredibly drinkable, this is an expertly crafted beer in its style.
