22oz bottle generously provided as an extra by qspandrew poured into a Lawson's Finest Liquids pint glass (another great extra by him!)
Rare Batch #165, Bottle #72
A - This beer is quite nice looking, pouring into the Lawson's pint glass a clear, golden amber with a grand, 2-fingered, frothy eggshell head. Retention is good as it sticks around for the majority of the glass. Good lacing as well with wide, broad wisps coating the glass.
S - Smell is sweet, with maple syrup coming in vaguely through the nose. Hops are also quite prominent, and the contrast between the syrupy sweetness and the pine forest hops is very enjoyable. Also getting some fruits and sugar, but the maple and hops are the forefront.
T - The maple syrup comes through in the taste moreso than in the nose, and this beer is certainly sweet. The malts and syrup last throughout the beer. About midway through the fruits, grape and apple specifically, come through and mix with the pine of the hops to really make this a unique beer. The sweetness is on par with a strong bock, but without being overbearing to subdue the hops. Finish is long and filled with syrup and fruit.
M - Mouthfeel is medium bodied with pretty low carbonation. It felt good in the mouth but a bit lifeless. The head helps contribute to it's great smoothness and it coats the mouth during its long finish.
D - Drinkability is moderate. The alcohol is really well hidden, only coming through now and then in the finish but it adds a nice heat to it. It certainly does creep up on you, and I saw this bottle disappear dangerously quickly. However, besides the maple and hops, this beer does sort of drag on near the end, but while it lasts, it is pretty unique and tasty.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a Prohibition Pig snifter.
Pours dark amber, minimal head that dissipates.
Smells sweet, maple is prominent. Some alcohol.
Taste is inline with aroma, but a more complex maple flavor is present than what I was expecting.
Mouthfeel is nice, a smidge thicker than normal ale, I'm assuming from the maple.
Overall, a well done beer!
