Lawson’s Finest Double Sunshine

Poured into a tulip glass at the Prohibition Pig in Waterbury, VT.

Pours a bright yet hazy orange color with some bright golden hues. There is a nice white head that forms that is about one inch tall and of medium density. The head is soapy and sticky and it leaves some nice lacing as the brew goes down and as the head recedes.

Aroma is of dank and grassy herbal hops. Fresh cut grass notes and some amazing citrus fruit notes. Seems dry and bitter and I struggle to notice any balancing malt. There are some orange rind notes and tangerines with some slight bitter lemony notes as well.

The flavor follows the nose. Starts of piney and resinous. Then, followed by some very very dank, grassy and herbal hop notes. These notes are then followed by notes of orange rind and mild grapefruit that get more intense as the brew travels. The flavor seems more balanced than the nose but still there is a nice citrusy explosion that dries the palette. Notes of orange and grapefruit a-plenty. Amazing medium body that seems thick and oily but goes down easy. Great dry bitter finish.
