Pours a hazy yellowish brown, yellow at the bottom of the glass fading to a murky brown color at the top, thick head with a bit of an orange tint.

Smell is daaank zesty lemony and orange hops, sweet flower petals, touch of honey, hints of bitter grapefruit and a melange of light tropical fruit, and then some more dank. Pungent.

Taste is big juicy pineapple and lemon zest, sweet at first fading into a more bitter grapefruit hop character, finishes spicy and floral with a touch of pine. Complex and delicious.

Mouthfeel is super rich and thick, almost syrupy, but with healthy carbonation and great drinkability. Perfect.

Damn good.

A: Poured from a bomber bottle into a stemless wine glass. Orange-marmalade in color with a hint of brown. 2-finger, frothy white head. Beautiful lacing.

S: A symphony of hop characteristic with a light sweetness that isn't the least bit cloying. Citrus rind, orange juice, fresh pine boughs, some mango and passion fruit, fresh herbs, I could go on forever on the aroma notes in here. Each whiff brings up something new and enticing!

T: This beer is fresh and crisp, with pound of flavor, and it's not afraid to get a little dirty. Well-balanced, with a nice juicy sweetness to form the backbone, with hop, hop, hop flavor layered on top. Notes of succulent tropical flowers, grapefruit and pine hops, some earthy grass and dirt on the swallow, with the overall impression that this beer was fresh squeezed from some magical beer fruit, or tapped from some magical beer tree. This tastes organic and natural and pure.

M: Clean and crisp with just enough to chew on to give you texture. You feel just a touch of the 8% abv in terms of heat, but mostly this is refreshing and juicy feeling. Not dry like some DIPAs I've had. This beer isn't out to destroy your mouth and palate, but more to dance on it and excite it.

O: World-class. This is how I imagine DIPAs would taste if they were found in nature. Harmony of flavors and feel, with a nurturing quality to the taste. Outstanding and worth whatever wait you need to get it.

I dont feel as if I need to say much- best doub I have ever had. To me its even better than heady topper, although they are two entirely different doubs. More fruity than a heady- overwhelming mango and more subtle apricot and papaya notes whereas the heady has more of a citrusy pink grapefruit and tangerine taste. Extraordinarily well balanced with the perfect ratio of fruit and subtle citrus an pine resins followed by a supremely smooth hoppy taste. There is really nothing I would have changed in the brew and I plan to buy another 5 this Thursday at the Warren General Store. If you have the chance to get your hands on this unique brew in Warren then I highly recommend that you do so-I cant say there is anything more worth your time.

Bottle to Lawson's sniffer

A:golden yellow bright in color with a fluffy bright white head that goes away but leaves a thick lacing. It is cloudy and completely opaque

S: Smells like fresh piney resiny hops definitely some citrus in there too really good quality smell not your average hop bomb

T: follows the nose very fresh hops with pine resin flavor but not overwhelming there is also a little bit of juicy citrus flavors like pineapple nice bitter finish but fairly well balanced for how hop forward this is not overwhelming.

M:smooth slightly resious/sticky feel but not that much but also juicy I use that word instead of watery because it is a little thicker while stile being thin and has a citrus feel. This aspect makes it extremely drinkable and the alcohol is totally hidden.

O: great Beer nice juicy fresh hops with a juicy extremely drinkable beer it is probably the most drinkable dipa I've ever had. I think this is Lawson's. best ipa and I highly recommend it if you can get it and drink it fresh

I've had a few fantastic Lawson's IPAs, but this appears to be their coup de gras! Lets see...

Pours, well, sunny. Yellow, mild haze, bright orange tones, bright white finger of head, fairly lacy. The aroma is good, but not hugely pungent. Herbal hops mixed with a jarring bit of tropical fruits dominate. Taste though, is a tropical fruit laden punch in the mouth. Mango and pineapple, robust herbal notes orange and grapefruit, with a soft maltiness and medium bitterness. Solid upper medium feel with good carbonation lends a lighter, refreshing feel and a dangerous drinkability.

All in all, this IIPA is every bit worth the trouble to get...or no trouble all cuz miamilice is a beast and extra'd it. Thanks Matt!

Got to try this at the bottle share during Hunahpu Day 2012. Thanks to all you guys at the J-Table that enabled me to try so many good brews, and had me wasted by 11 am. As for this brew, Heady Topper to date is my favorite ipa/dipa i've ever had. This is a very close second. Cheers

Side by side with heady topper and dc brau on the wings of armageddon on 3/2/14.

Agree with my original tasting review, only thing that I would like to add is this has the best nose on it imo of any DIPA i've ever had. Still take heady overall as my favorite, but the nose on this thing is the best. cheers
