On tap at the Prohibition Pig in Waterbury, VT. 10oz pour into a Prohibition Pig snifter glass yesterday, 10/23/2013.

Looks a lot like Double Sunshine- hazy orange body, with a nice fluffy 1cm white head that retains quite well. Lots of lacing left on the glass as it goes down. Very pretty looking IPA.

Smells juicy as heck, mostly grapefruit. I don't really get a whole lot of anything else, not too complex but a very juicy, intense aroma that is sure to please any hophead that enjoys the smell of the likes of Zombie Dust and pseudoSue.

Flavour is quite citrusy, a bit less juicy than the nose would imply. Finishes with a bit of pine that isn't present in the nose. A fairly bitter but refreshingly dry finish. Pale malts aka caramel and biscuits, hold up just slightly enough that the bitterness isn't overwhelming.

Deliciously medium bodied mouthfeel that just feels so creamy and well-carbonated on the tongue. Palate is fairly bitter pine and feels quite creamy and resinous, but remains incredibly drinkable. This beer disappeared fast.

What separates these Vermont beers from the competition is the mouthfeel. So creamy, perfectly carbonated and drinkable... along with the ridiculous hop profiles to boot. This is very well done; not super amazing but incredibly well done and tasty.

22oz bottle poured into Lawson's tulip. Bottle purchased at the Montpelier Farmer's market on 12/21, exactly two weeks ago.

A- Pours a very clear golden copper, about a finger's worth of white foamy head forms that has very nice retention and slowly recedes to a thin layer coating the glass in thin soapy lacing, an abundance of slowly rising carbonation bubbles form that have a nice consistency and makes the beer almost appear like a copper color champagne.

S- Plenty of earthy hops lend their aromas while being nicely balanced with a malt background. Each hop varietal lends it's unique aromas with earthy tropical aromas of grapefruit, mangoes, papayas, etc.. Nicely balanced, fairly complex, holding up well after two weeks in the bottle.

T- Big juicy tropical flavors of oranges, mangoes, lemons, and starfruit balanced with a malt background that fits nicely with the tropical earthiness of the tropical fruits. Not the most hop-forward IPA on the market, but hop flavors add a nice tropical fruit presence while balancing perfectly with the malts to add a little bit of sweetness.

M- Medium bodied, perfect carbonation, finishes with a juicy lightly dry bitterness that complements the flavors nicely.

O- Lawson's makes easily some of the best IPAs in the world. While Triple Play may not be my favorite offering from Lawson's (Hopzilla still takes the cake) it is still a world-class IPA that stands against some of the best IPAs in the world. This is right up there with Double Sunshine as a must try IPA for any hop-head.

Poured into a tulip glass a dull copper color with a large blooming white that left a few broken rings of lace as it settled slowly.Big citric hops really jump out ya in the nose, pithy grapefruit and lemon notes over top of sweet alcohol and caramel.Fresh sharp grapefruit hops on the palate with underlying resiny notes, just great hop complexity mixed with some sweet induced alcohol.Wow there is a real citric punch to this beer, almost DIPAish except not overly sweet,a great beer.

22oz bomber poured int a Duvel tulip.

Pours a hazy amber/orange color with a small white to light yellow head, very bubbly. Nose is amazing, fresh and fruity, mango, grapefruit, pine and sweet fruit juice.

Taste is much less fruity than the nose, but it's still top notch, for a regular IPA it sure packs a hop punch, very bitter and palate tingling. There's a really nice creamy and sticky mouthfeel with a bit of a slightly acidic bite on the finish. A really nice addition to Lawson's hoppy line up!

Cloudy yellow with a tinge of orange, and a significant foamy head. Hoppy aroma. The taste is a bit vegetable. A good malty backbone and good drinkability and fits well into the style of IPA rather than DIPA.Above average mouthfeel.John’s bottle.Very nice but a little disappointed.

This is clearly a beer that did not forget about caramel malt. From the dark orange appearance, through the sweet aroma, to the chewy, smooth body.

Clearly, though, a brew like this is all about the hops, right? Well, not really. This beer is sweet, malty, balanced, and yes, hoppy. It's also very smooth, with a nice hefty body beyond its 7% ABV.

This is a beer where the malts did not go ignored, coming across with notes of brown sugar, maple syrup, biscuits and bread, and caramel chew.

Hops are a blend of tropical juices, citrus peel and pulp, tannin, and pine.
