16 oz can from the brewery, dated 8/10/22
pours a very dark red, but clear. thick cream colored head. aroma of mild earthy hops and caramel malt. similar flavor, the hops balance the malt sweetness, with a mildly bitter and dry finish. medium bodied.

Had a single draft at Lawson's Liquids in Waitsfield, Vermont for about seven dollars. My seventeenth brew from these guys. Just ok, not my favorite style.

Light tan head. Semi-murky, deep reddish caramel color. Really good, subtle clove/allspice aroma, with the slightest of any hoppy note, at all. Really good, balanced body and malt to hop ratio, with a bit of a malty, in the way of a medium heavy toasted flavor, a bit of crispness at first, yielding to the malt and the slightest hop bite and touch of medium toasted oak.

Can. Dark amber with lasting eggshell head. Caramel earthy aroma with some fruit. Toasted caramel and grainy malt body with nice dry herbal and fruity finish. Medium body with some hard water minerallyness. Excellent for the style, which I think is only Steve's favorite these days.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a semi-transparent ruddy amber color with some carbonation seen rising to fill a one finger white foamy head that dissipated nicely. Messy lacing clings to the glass. The aroma starts off with sweet and bitter citrus rind and pulp over top of deep rich sweet caramel and toffee malts. The flavor takes in all of the previously mentioned aromas with a dry sweet semi-grainy aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a nice sessionable trait about it. Carbonation rides under allowing a ton of malts to stick to my tongue decently, not cloying, but yes, decent. Overall, I’d say this was a pretty good Irish red ale that I could have again.
