This is of a Cascade lot grown in Vermont.
Pours a golden color. Even if you're familiar AF with Cascades (although I doubt from this side of the country), its always nice to see a fresh hop beer that isn't having to content with a hefty malt bill to show its hand. Has the usual underpinnings of grapefruit rind and pine, no different here. Comfortable and familiar.
Taste, hits the usual rind and pine, but you get this floral and grassy nuance to it that you don't often get with Cascade. More depth here. This is back when fresh hop beers made more sense, before the dank proprietary tropical fruit juice bombs that actually lose a lot of pungency with wet hop stylings (I realize we're talking fresh, not wet hops here, but it helped make my point).
Its a basic pale ale with a very basic and common hop, but in its simplicity, it actually reveals some details that get by a lot of persons who might see this as just a basic beer, standard two row, standard Cascade hop, but its real value lies in getting more range than normal out of Cascade.

Thanks to ActonBrewer for sending this one. Reviewed from notes. Poured from bomber into a Fat Head's pint glass.
A: Hazy deep gold, with a thin white head and relatively low visible carbonation.
S: Grassy, tropical and citrus hops over a light cracker malt.
T: Nice restrained tropical and citrus hop flavors with lesser grassy and floral character, and light cracker malts. Lightly bitter in the hang.
M: Light body but not watery, no alcohol presence to speak of and medium carbonation sensation.
O: Unfortunately, I got this bottle probably a bit later than would have been ideal for a fresh-hopped beer. Even so, it really is a solid APA. Restrained hop bitterness but still quite flavorful.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a willi becher glass.
Pours a medium to light amber with one finger high of tiny bubble head.
Smell is very nice, very floral, more than I'm used to from Lawsons.
Taste is right in line with smells, some good sweetness.
Mouthfeel was clean.
Overall, a very nice and very drinkable IPA from Sean.

Hazy straw colored beer with a nice white head. Limited nose. Some grassiness. Fairly thin mouthfeel. Taste is refreshing, grassy, and very clean. Almost like a pilsner or lager body with very light hop presence. It does give me that harvest feel like being in a field in Vermont. Very refreshing beer not necessarily the hop presence you'd expect though.
