Enjoyed on-tap at the Reservoir, Waterbury. Subtle but pleasing grassy hop aroma, with subdued chocolate and roasted malt notes in the background. The flavors show best as the beer warms to about 50 degrees. Ok, there is somewhat of a toated bread character, but really we get that earthy, minty character from combining the roasted malts with ample hops. For the style I would have liked a little more body and mouthfeel, but maybe I've been corrupted by Stone's offerings. Easy drinking in the Vermont style - something that might hit the spot on a humid day or once the rain stops.
Edit :Aftef having the bottled version I adjusted the review. I much prefer Toast from the bottle. It could be the temperature, but more roasted malt and chocolate notes came through. I would certainly try the bottled version again.
