About as perfect a session IPA as possible. Tastes like a full ABV IPA with one exception, lack of bitterness somewhere between the middle and finish. Light copper color, fluffy white head, tropical fruit aroma. Medium body and slightly above average carbonation.

Drank from a 1 pint, 6 fl. oz. bottle
Served in a pint glass
Big thanks to Fclfcs for bringing this gift to our party.
The beer poured a brilliantly clear, medium amber color and was topped by an inch-tall, fluffy, bubbly, eggshell colored crown. Really solid head retention. A thin film of bubbles lasted throughout the session. Streaks of lacing stuck all along the glass.
The aroma was super hoppy. Punchy, fruity and sweet. Bright and zesty with intense tropical fruit notes. Loads of pineapple. Good amount of mango. Hint of passionfruit. Citrus notes were also apparent. Orange peel came through strong. Touch of ruby red grapefruit.
As impressive as the nose may have been, the flavor profile was a huge disappointment. It was ultra hoppy yet really thin and overwhelming bitter. Grapefruit rind notes dominated. Lots of orange peel. The hops had a lemony and tart presence as well. Very piney and dry with no malt balance to speak of. The lingering finish was ultra dry, pithy and intensely bitter. Almost Aspirin-like.
On the palate, the beer felt super light and bubbly. Really thin and airy with an intense carbonation that was rather distracting. With time, the carbonation settled a bit.
I love the concept of a 3% ABV session IPA but, in reality, this beer simply did not work. Some beer styles can succeed with a minimalistic malt profile, but intensely hopped beers like this one definitely need something more to maintain balance.
