Another canned beer from the creator of the canquest, woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of mango, tropical fruits. Taste is hoppy, fruity, bitter, just all around yummy. The glass is getting empty quick. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a fine quality beer.

Pours a golden color with lots of yeasty particles floating about. The head is short and dense and settles into a light cap. Some soapy lacing. Not sure why there is yeasty floaters in an IPA.

The aroma is of a lightly bready malt with a hint of caramel. Light honey sweetness. The hops are herbal with notes of citrus and pine. Some metallic notes.

The taste is of a metallic bready malt, quite English like. There is a general fruitiness to the malt as well. The hops are steely, peppery and grassy; perhaps faded. I want to say some unripe apricot. A bready, bitter IPA/APA.

The feel is moderate with softish carbonation. Slightly sweet on the palate but finishes with a dry, astringent bitterness. Quite asprin like.

An meh IPA. Too dry for my liking. Hops are blah.

Alright, I have to review this beer now while it is here in front of me again. The Memorial Day Weekend had the hop heads of the family sharing brewskis in a taste festival, and this beer was unanimously greeted with respect and revulsion!

First of all we had already been through about 6 different IPAs, and you might discount this review on that, but again, here I have the beer in front of me in a snifter, and two of us a trying to gag it down. We haven't had any IPA yet today, and yet it is still difficult to drink.

I give it a 3 overall because it really does something special. The looks on the face produced by this bitter brew are highly entertaining.

Looks and mouth feel are excellent. Slightly hazy and peach orange, the one looks very good. The pour yields a lovely inch foam that dissipates into nothingness over the long minutes it takes to get through it, leaving alcoholic legs, like dried maple syrup on the snifter walls.

Look out! As soon as this beer bashes onto your tongue you are into a world of hurt!

Bitter up front, and bitter to the end, I find descriptors like wet cigarette butts, sucking the end of an old rope, rank wet sneakers, and old baseball glove come easily to mind, as the palette struggles to come to grips with what is the gnarliest beer we've had all year, perhaps in our !ives!

Good lord, did they filter this through an old dish rag? What mischief inspires a brew that curls the tongue with herculean taste cramps. I find the tiniest of sips blossom into huge flavor bomb blasts layered with the assorted subtleties of the finest piney IPAs however draped in a jungle camouflage of dank midew molds and fermented mangoes, and rotten mung beans in reconstituted shiitake mushroom, with twisted old rancid terry cloth tennis wrist band juice thrown in for a salty insult. We almost gag.

Yet over the time it takes to drink oh so slowly, it warms to ambient temperature, and opens up, transforming from an ugly duckling to a majestic swan. I'm pretty certain this beer teaches respct and tolerance, and by the time you are down to the last flat and warm inch of beer in the bottom of the glass you at rewarded with something unusually complex and deliciously palatable, after all the grueling suffering, not quite stomach churning, but tongue twisting.

A slow drinker. Approach with caution. Not for the uninitiated.
