A: deep amber body, nice and clear; full head of ivory foam left lotsa messy lace down the glass

S: tropical and orchard fruits meet piney, resinous, woodsy hops

T: follows nose across the palate, with flavors of apricot, passion fruit, coconut, wood and pine resin

M: medium-light body, crisp, carbonation is ample, drier finish than start

O: a very nice, woodsy, almost barrel-aged character, featuring Simcoe hops (I think this is a single-hop beer, but don't quote me). IPA fans need to give it a try.

Honey yellow in color with an amber hue and heavy chill haze. Poured with a thick, dense, white foam that reduced to a steady cap that draped sticky lacings down the glass. Huge, floral aroma, with citrus grapefruit and ripe pineapple in the background and a piney hop twang at the back end. Hop aromas are backed up by a sweet, caramel malt backbone. Medium bodied with tangy, rich carbonation through the middle. Fresh tropical citrus and floral flavors up front followed by a wave of pine hop bitterness through the middle to the end. Finished dryly with a lingering, resinous, pine hop aftertaste. A nice showcase of hop aromas and flavors.

Canned on 10/5. Got a six pack from my go to beer guy here in Westchester County NY.

a - Pours lighter orange/pale yellow as if you mixed a Caribbean lager like a Carib with an amber IPA. Nice foamy head which dissipates much quicker than Jai Alai.

s - Nice burst of floral and slight citrus hops. Definitely more floral in the nose than Jai Alai which surprised me a little. You definitely get that piney simcoe aroma for sure.

t - Nice medium bite as is goes down. Again, slightly more bitter than Jai Alai in my opinion which, again, surprised me. Definitely packs citrus flavors but is rather light (not in a bad way), but just light.

m - Light body with medium carm. Again, bitter bite as it goes down which is completely gone in the finish.

o - Good IPA. The whole idea of a Caribbean IPA intrigued me, but I had something totally different in my mind than what this beer ended up being. For me, Jai Alai is better. I'd definitely get this again if given the chance, even at 7% ABV I still think this could be a sessionable IPA.
