From Notes:
Served on-tap at House of 1000 Beers on December 3rd 2013

A - Clear orange with two fingers of fluffy white head, tight small lacing
S - Pine, pepper, dank grassy hops, mild malt
T - Huge dank flavor, lots of pine, grassy, very earthy, some dark peppery kinda spice coming through, creamy malt
M - Well balanced, not overly bitter.
O - Good Ipa, strong dank flavor that I really like.

Well I wanted my 1900th review to be special so I guess with such a high review this one is good enough. $3.50 for the single.

A - You can tell its dry hopped since how hazy this amber brew is. Head is massive full inch plus that sticks around for a while,
S - Juicy and mildly nostril stinging Citra Hops. Pineapple and lemon peel smell is balanced with the malts though gram cracker goodness.
T - Not super bitter balanced herbal hops meets citrus and mango hops. Balanced malts and tea leaves herbal ness buried underneath in all its very good. Reminds me of Sculpin in a way.
M - Not super easy to drink but for around 7% this beer drinks well. Balanced flavor the entire visit.

Overall I will not say this beer blew my mind since a lot of breweries are using Citra hops and making very balanced IPA's. This is a very solid beer regardless. I think the only deterant is the price which is on par with Sculpin.

A: Poured can into a 15 ounce glass. Golden, copper color with a huge lingering off white head. This is the best quality of this beer from an entertainment point of view. The creamy head slowly dissipates until only a single mountainous island is left in the middle of the glass.

S: Hints of Banana, grapefruit, lemons and prevalent hops.

T: The taste remaining from the ahtanum hops is truly unique. Bitter, but not off putting.

M: Bitterness on the tongue, but not overwhelming.

O: To me this is a good beer which is made better with a supporting cast of the right foods. Solid IPA, but nothing from a taste point of view that makes it stand out.

12oz can poured into a tulip pint.
Dry-hopped with Ahtanum.

Gold with 2 fingers of fluffy, off-white head. Excellent clarity with low carbonation.

Pineapple, lemon, pink grapefruit and candy sugar.

Biscuity and bready malts with touches of candy sugar. Pineapple, pink grapefruit and florals. Quite a bit of residual sugar lingers on.

Medium bodied, crisp and moderately bitter.

Easy drinking and rather standard IPA. I expect more from Cigar City.
